Hey everyone, I was just reminiscing about the Don't Believe the Truth tour from 2005-06 and wondered what memories you all have from those shows. Whether you caught the band in the UK or somewhere else in the world,, it’d be great to hear your stories. For me, it was the Manchester show in December 2005. The atmosphere was electric,,, and when they kicked into "Lyla," the crowd just went wild. It felt like everyone in the arena was singing along to every word. Were there any particular gigs or moments that stood out for you: ?? Maybe a rare track they played or just a special vibe that night: ?? I would love to know what stuck with you the most from that era. Looking forward to your replies. Thanks Steve Smith cissp

I have very special memories because I was lucky enough to go to one of those warm-up concerts that they gave shortly after the album came out. It was 06/1/2005, the venue was called "Aqualung", in Madrid. I think we were 2000 people. Hellish heat in the place and the sound seemed like it was going to blow off the roof of that place.
I remember, which was also curious because "Don't Believe The Truth" had just come out two days ago, and the same morning of the day I went to the concert, is when I was able to hear it for the first time.
Months later, in November, already on tour, I saw them again in a much larger venue. I liked it, but nothing to do with the first one I told you about.

The first night in Manchester was my first ever Oasis gig. Got the train into Piccadilly station and got talking to someone who worked for the band (possibly a roadie but can't remember exactly). They said Liam kicked off at the start of the tour in Milan because his toast was too burnt which led to a massive argument between him and Noel.
Gig was great.
Didn't have any accommodation booked so pulled an all nighter in Piccadilly afterwards and got the 5am train home, but fell asleep on the train and missed my stop.

Months later, in November, already on tour, I saw them again in a much larger venue. I was there too, I went on my own and had a great time. I remember I wrote on my left hand "stand tall" and on my right hand "stand proud" because of POTQ, I thought at the time that it would become a classic! After the gig I went closer to the stage trying to score a guitar pick or a setlist but a guy had already took it, I asked if we could share and he gave me a tiny bit of the paper, just around 3cms, I still have it somewhere. On my way out I went to the merch section and asked "what can I buy with 5€?" I was very young and broke, and they sold me a pin. It's not much, but I treasure it. (This one: rockmerchuniverse.com/cdn/shop/files/oasispinbadge_480x480.webp)My friends were waiting outside the venue and we went out that night, I met a man who used to be a roadie for Inspiral Carpets. I'd wish my english was better back then because I didn't understand most of what he said (but also because he was really drunk). We ended up singing together DLBIA at 3am. Good memories.

Seen them 8 times in 2005.
Paying 100 odd quid to see them at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh. Makes the 150 we are paying for these gigs seem not so bad.
I'd seen them that often that by the time Milton Keynes came around, we left 4 or 5 songs early. Mental to think.
Gigs were great.

The tour that I saw them the most on as a plucky & still financially strapped 21yo.
Mucky Fingers was an instant favorite of mine, so I was thrilled to see it JAM JAM JAM on this tour. I also saw them in three very diff. settings (arena; amphitheater/shed; theater)
1) UIC Arena Chicago '05 - First time seeing them in an arena again after Rosemont Horizon '98. Was pretty well sold-out & loud. Don't remember the performance being anything special. I remember thinking "Love Like A Bomb" was pretty daft. Went w/ a buddy and it was sold out enough we had to get to separated singles. Jet definitely brought some fans. Did Kasabian open here too?
2) Coors Amphitheatre San Diego '05 - Had great seats (center, 10 rows back). Went w/ my brother. Really enjoyed Kasabian. Jet was kinda mehh. Oasis were loud & large. Noel had a long banter w/ an agent he recognized in the front rows in second half of the gig. Maybe this was first time I heard the "buy a fkin t-shirt" line Noel was always good for. The band is shown playing mini-golf backstage during LDSMD, and apparently its this venue.
3) Dodge Theater Phoenix '05 - Went by myself. Decent seat again, 25 rows back, left-center section. I remember Liam wearing his trench coat & it was hot/packed in this 4,000+ seater. Pretty sure it was a Sunday night, and the area around the theater was super quiet/unbusy. No drinking bcz I had to drive back to Tucson.
4) Riverside Theater Milwaukee '06 - Met infamous Noel guitar tech Jason Rhodes at the bar across from the venue whilst pre-gaming w/ my cousin. Got super drunk and was happy to return to site where I'd seen them w/ Travis back in '00. Don't remember much of the gig. That theater is small & lord knows the Marshall stacks rocked that place.
After this tour, I foolishly thought...shit, now I split time b/w Arizona/Chicago, I'll see Oasis 3-5 times every tour henceforth! How wrong I was. Trying to recall my memories now...seems I took 'em for granted a bit too, can't hardly remember much.

I saw them in Atlanta on the DBTT tour in 2005 for the 4th (and last) time. I have better memories of seeing them in 1998, 2000 and 2002 for different reasons. 1998 was the first time, so definitely won't forget that. In 2000, I was right on the rail (Midtown Music Festival - Atlanta) in front of Noel the whole gig, got some great pictures and probably my favorite gig by them.
In 2002, met the whole band outside of their hotel in Atlanta and got pictures with them. Great gig at the Tabernacle that night, so definitely one of my highlights. By 2005, it was just going to go and my seats were pretty far back. Great show as usual, but it was hard to beat my previous three experiences, so probably why I don't have as many memories from that one.

Saw them in Melbourne on December 2. I was 12 and had a cry as I wasn’t allowed to see them in 2002 (when I was 9 lol) but my parents surprised me with taking me there. I remember the house lights coming down and the Close Encounters speech coming on, and the crowd losing their minds at the opening flam of FITB. Insane. Zak was absolutely thunderous and Noel looked at me puzzled during the CAA intro, probably weird seeing a small child lose his mind amongst a bunch of rowdy 20-somethings.
I play in an Oasis tribute act in Melbourne now and the singer was a DJ and the only Liam surrogate Australia had at the time, so he was asked to the gig and has some pretty mad stories of backstage.
Life changing. So glad I saw that tour tbh I think that was peak musical form for the lads. Fast forward and I’m still a mental fan and now doing the odd bits of merchandise for them which is surreal!!

I’ll tell you a story.
I went to the City of Manchester gig the night of Live 8 (slightly irritated to be missing Pink Floyd down at Hyde Park, having failed to get tickets).
I distinctly remember photobombing a group photo some random bloke next to us took of his mates.
Two years later, I’m on an internship in the States, living in shared accommodation with some other interns.
One of them, a Welsh lad, my randomly selected roommate, a few months in, said that his Mrs back home in the U.K. could swear she’d just seen me on his home computer.. which was weird and of course made no sense as we’d only met in the States.
Incredibly, he was the random bloke who I’d photobombed two years earlier! And there was me, standing next to all his mates!
