I think the greatest thing would be if Ringo suddenly turned up at the first date in Cardiff and revealed himself to be the drummer, it would be as if that they’d upgraded since 2005/2006, thanks to “Oasismania”, the only other time outside of 1996 where the term can be used appropriately.

Guitarist Gem Archer has been offered the chance to join the Oasis tour and is expected to be the next band member to sign up with Liam and Noel Gallagher.

Reports this morning suggested Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs has agreed to get back on the road with the band for the Oasis Live 25 tour next year. And sources close to discussions say Gem is another former Oasis star both brothers Liam and Noel want on board and have approached. He is expected to agree to a deal shortly.

Bonehead is a founding member of Oasis and close friends with Liam and Noel, credited with trying to reconcile them. Although 57-year-old Gem is not an original Oasis band member, he joined the group in 1999 and played for a decade alongside the Gallaghers before Noel quit the band in 2009.

Since 2009, he has first played with Liam Gallagher in his band Beady Eye, before later joining Noel's solo project Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds in 2017. One source said: "None of the band is 100% confirmed yet, but Gem is looking very likely along with Bonehead. The key is getting people who both brothers get on with and also respect and ideally of course they would also have been in the band before too.

"Gem ticks all those boxes and he also contributed to the writing of some Oasis songs. He is an obvious target and it would be a huge shock if he was not on the stage for the UK tour. He knows the songs, he knows the band inside out and he has been on tour with the Gallaghers before and so he knows what he would be signing up for."

But seriously he seems like a good dude. Ride are great and Turn Up the Sun is still a banger. I grew up with oasis mk2 so I’d be bummed if he wasn’t part of it.

But yeah, he does seem a good guy and he should definitely be in the band.

I was just rewatching the Time Flies documentary and during the Lyla video commentary Noel mentions that “Liam and Whitey had fallen out over something…it’s not important.” Maybe they can mend fences?

When do we think we'll find out who's in the band? Or if they are not official band members who will be on stage? Wikipedia (not always the best source) just lists Liam and Noel as band members but surely Bonehead will be there as well.

Both Gem & Andy deserve to be there along with Bonehead. They were loyal actual members until the end, they didn't jump ship.

Never going to happen but get Guigsy and Tony back! The 94 early 95 line up is still by far my favourite Oasis line up. It was literally 5 young mates all from the same area forming a band. And it was peak Oasis with the songs. If I had to name my top 15 Oasis songs of all time, about 12 would be from Definately maybe inc b sides, whatever single inc b sides, some might say single inc b sides before Tony was kicked out

I'd be surprised if guigsy has even picked up a bass in the last 20 years.

Noel , Liam , bonehead , gem , Russ and whitey.. guest appearances will be made and that includes Guigsy on home soil.. the set list will be between the first 3 albums with tracks post 2000 being the main hits and new music thrown in.
