I had a dream last night that the 15 year split was all manufactured and they were actually talking the whole time and there wasn't any real bad blood. Imagine it was true and it was a retrospective about the last 15 years as a behind the scenes thing. In reality, it's probably going to be something showing how the reunion came about and maybe it will be the first time we see them together again. at this point i believe that revealing that you manufactured for 15+ years a fight between brothers is VERY BAD PR hope they don't do that i do hope that an eventual doc covers how they became on speaking terms etc that would be nice i know personally a very nasty story of brothers fighting for years and i do have a soft spot for one of brothers reconciling somehow, even if they are motivated by money and not becoming best friends again. the ones i know had trouble in reconciling even for money I’m hoping the documentary’s mostly about their cats. God bless.

A documentary in march before any of the gigs? huh, what're they gonna put in there that we probably don't already know from Supersonic? I had a dream last night that the 15 year split was all manufactured and they were actually talking the whole time and there wasn't any real bad blood. Imagine it was true and it was a retrospective about the last 15 years as a behind the scenes thing. In reality, it's probably going to be something showing how the reunion came about and maybe it will be the first time we see them together again. on one hand, i would be very impressed if a feud like that was maintained for 15 years straight, with how nosey UK tabloids are it would've failed like 1 month week in. they seem to hate each other for real for a good long while.
on the other, it would feel really "dirty" in a sense that everyone got fooled for that long. "oh actually we agreed beforehand we'll split until ? and give everyone a long long break"
I agree with you though, documentary of a 1 year countdown/process to them announcing that they're back would be kinda cool.

nah with all that happened, the anger was there. Beady Eye failing and all that, It would have been a bit much just for a documentary.
But, my guess is that they made up many years ago. Not being best friends, but talking casually.

Not being best friends, but talking casually. I manage an electronic music event company on the side and have been a part of large festivals and have booked many djs etc. I've worked with Live Nation in the past. Too book a tour of this magnitude conversations were definitely had somewhere around a year prior at the very least. There is usually a minimum 6 month window where we have to have everything in place and wheels in motion for larger scale events. My educated guess coming from producing events myself is that Liams team reached out to Noel's team for the Definitely Maybe tour and Noels team passed obviously due to Noel's obligations but I'm almost certain at that point they probably spoke and Noel said I'll leave 2025 open to do something with Morning Glory. Once Noel saw the success of the tour and how well it was produced it likely double sold him. So there was definitely conversations pre DM Tour that started dialog for this tour. Maybe the 2 of them hadn't physically spoke but their camps 100% did.

My background in the industry couldn't process them passing up an opportunity this fruitful. It wasn't the hopeful Oasis fan in me. It was the event producer side of me that kept saying they would have to be 2 of the stupidest people to not set aside their differences for the financial opportunity of everything that came along with 2025 and a Morning Glory tour etc. I do believe tho that Noel suggested scraping a Morning Glory tour and just calling it Oasis Live 25 so it can be more of a greatest hits tour than catering to just 1 album. That was also a brilliant move.

Why are people talking about Noel selling the catalogue next year? I'm not up to par with author rights in European law, but why is 2025 singled out?

That was also a brilliant move. totally, im not familiar with the process but yeah logically it takes a lot of time to set up between money negotiations with the promoters, the venues etc to then deciding where and when. Noel always wanted to do something big in 2025. He teased the back catalog coming back to them many times, + MG anniversary + general opinion wanting britpop back... so that was the right time. The "fail" of WBTM, the EP and the meh meh CS helped too. I'd say the reunion has been on the card since 2022, maybe even before. Its all too much a coincidence that Liam suddenly stopped his solo career and released the John Squire album instead. So my bet is : "family" talks in 2020/2021. Reunion talks in 2022, Reunion "go" in 2023 with first the DM tour planned, then live return in 2025, MG re-releases and in the future a new album.

It would make sense if the first visible interaction between Noel and Liam came in the form of a documentary.
That serves the hype well rather than some dull press conference.

The gigs themselves have been announced a year in advance, and for all we know, the actual setup (e.g. band lineup, production etc) has still to be sorted out and finalised, they have plenty of time for that – it's not like they're going to spend 6+ months in rehearsals.
Contractually there will have been plans drawn up from promoters for years, there probably wasn't that much to actually iron out once both brothers indicated they were willing to go ahead – book venues in the major cities according to the schedule and get the money in, then get to work on the rest. It wouldn't surprise me if it all proceeded quite quickly once Noel said it was time.

Now a Netflix docu? How did this band blow up all of a sudden? Like sure, nostalgia factor but this goes well beyond a nostalgia act at this point. This is truly mental. I stopped Netflix many years ago… but I’ll subscribe in March for one month. Presumably the documentary will be about how the reunion happened seeing as the gigs don’t kick off until Summer 2025.

It’ll be a general documentary of the thirty years. I was thinking it from a loyal fan perspective, but this documentary isn’t catering to us but rather the general public. So yeah, a general documentary is the most probable. Still, sanctioned by Netflix is huge and should be a good watch.

There will be a proper docu for the reunion tho

I'm looking forward to the documentary as it should be interesting to see what Noel and Liam have to say especially if their interviewed together for the first time in years. But we shall see.

I Said it before, but again its just another level of why the reunion is happening now as all this exposure and streams/ tv stations using their music etc surely adds 10's off millions if not more to the asking price if he is gonna sell them
