He’s been using them since 05. Nobody uses stage monitors anymore. It’s all gone in ear. I wonder why is that. If he feels that stage monitors work better for him, maybe he should try them again. He has, doesn't look like he has them at Knebworth, Glastonbury 17, and the recent Half the World Away pro shot.

Spiralling costs post Covid. You might still have the odd person maybe but in general it’s all gone in ear.

Since I brought it up here before it happened (and I fully believe that they ended up pushing their announcement back a week so as not to be outshined by Oasis), Linkin Park truly exemplified how to do a band reunion today. Members of their fan club in Los Angeles were told to come to an event this afternoon, which they announced would be livestreamed. Come 3 PM they're playing a surprise reunion show to hundreds of fans and the entire internet. Played deep cuts and the hits. They dropped a single, announced an album, and a tour which starts next week. Fan club members are the only ones with access to the presale. There is a "Legacy" presale which starts 2 hours before the regular fan club presale which I can only assume is for longtime members. Oh and their interview with Zane Lowe drops tomorrow. I'm massively hyped for both reunions, but damn, the difference is stark. Oasis have just sold out 17 x 90,000-100k gigs. I'm sure they've done it just fine.

I agree 100% that sounds so much cooler than how oasis have returned

Isn't it Steve White, The Style Council Drummer? Alan has made a joke about the line up under Steve's original post. I may not have pasted that properly. Oh, sorry, didn't notice, I'll check again

Both his movements and singing style here are very reminiscent of ‘09. I felt like I was watching iTunes festival clips just from seeing him bounce off the mic so quickly after barking out a line. It's like the power is there but he's holding back. It doesn't sound as bad as '09 but the cut offs are crud - it's like a motor fully revving up only to shut down immediately. the slightly more acoustic-etheral live forever sounds amazing, i hope they do it that way noel's new version is immense, maybe the greatest thing i've ever heard live from noel So if he incorporated that into a new live version with liam, that'd be fascinating to hear

Liam back tweeting. Replied 'SHUTUP' to a fan who moaned about ticket prices.
Not going to do them any favours.

I agree 100% that sounds so much cooler than how oasis have returned Yeah but they’re shit and they’ve replaced a key member with someone new. Of course they have to grovel to win fans back on side. The two scenarios aren’t in any way comparable.

They didn't have bad blood, it was a case of replacing somebody and reforming. The news on Oasis got out in the press on Saturday, but on the Sunday it was always planned that Liam - and the Blossoms - would have those screens up at the end of their gigs, signalling the annoucnment. It's moaning for the sake of it. I totally get the issues around the dynamic pricing and why that has soured things. But everything else - nah. We've got a reunion we never thought we'd see announced and within days people were whinging about it.

(also I didnt see many fans saying how cool experience it was it was when that timer just glitched and started going up or whatever did saw lots and lots ofd very very annoyed fans) Oasis first gig is almost 10 months away. Their first gig less than a week away. Oasis will do lots of cool things I am sure in the build up to these gigs, then again to hype the inevitable 26 tour also.

Its also totally different for Linkin Park with a new singer, they sort of have to give people a taster before charging them for tickets. We know exactly what we are getting with Oasis. (Well unless you’re one of these people who think the whole thing hinges on whether its Jay Darlington or Zeb Jameson on keys

This is exactly the kind of reply most fans look for from him when they tweet. So yeah, sorry, I think most fans want him to be a jerk to them, in jest.

I will. There's a pretty obvious common-sense middle-ground to this one, I'd have thought: ------------------------- Noel and Liam are Oasis. The classic nineties line-up are also part of the Oasis magic. The 2000's line-up is also part of Oasis, but with less of the magic of the glory days of the band attached. Agreed, but I think the general public don't really care either way! Hardcore fans will, yeah, but casual fans see Oasis as Liam and Noel and that's it. Plus, imo it makes for much more striking marketing having a picture of just those two together because having no one else in the picture centres the importance of the moment and also the spectacle of it - 2 brothers who've been estranged for 15 years are finally back in the same room Oh, for the marketing purposes of the official re-union image, I agree completely. I do think more people care about the likes of Bonehead/Whitey being involved than some might think, though. There will always be a magic around the 90's version of the band that resonates even with casuals.
