What’s a wilder statistic: 2.5 million applications for 250,000 tickets in 1996 Or 14 million applications for 1.7 million tickets in 2024 Definitely 2024. After 15 years broke up. One week ago if you said you listen Oasis you just pass for a bloody "has been", and one week later we live all of this, so that's just crazy, totally.

What’s a wilder statistic: 2.5 million applications for 250,000 tickets in 1996 Or 14 million applications for 1.7 million tickets in 2024 14 Million concert ticket applications / attempts is absolute fucking insanity. Only a handful of artists / bands could command that level of demand. You're talking equivalent populations of small countries and big cities. I don't even understand it. Anti-Oasis people are like Vegans, they'll fucking tell you.

In 1996 the band were everywhere in popular culture and at the peak of their powers. In 2024, we're 15 years removed from when they last played a gig, never mind from when they were last considered the cultural zeitgeist of the moment! Incredible doesn't do it justice Said it for years, they're bigger now than they were when they split - by MILES 14 million is remarkable

I think he’s talking about no NGHFB tours in 2025/2026 Seems obvious this is what he is saying (reference to NGHFB only),,,and the baffling part to me is how many people overlooked the “we are all Oasis fans, right? …Buckle up…” part…This was the best clue, pre official confirmation, that was out there and almost everyone completely whiffed on it.

All throughout the reunion rumour period, this comment was the one that gave me the most hope. Regardless, its ON!

Taking 15 years off while letting the legacy grow was probably the best business move they could possibly do.

👀
(For context, the first guy who runs his own business is close mates with Bonehead as you'll be able to see if you look through their interactions)

What’s a wilder statistic: 2.5 million applications for 250,000 tickets in 1996 Or 14 million applications for 1.7 million tickets in 2024 96 as everyone only had 1 landline so you either used that (and speak to someone) or you had to go into town and queue up in a shop. vs now eveyone having multiple people using multiple devices to get them. But having that effect 30 years on does probably win tbh Agreed: 1996 by a country mile. This predates the era of globalisation.

They're both massive 'achievements' But yes, the Ticketmaster touting probably sours this one more.

Sorry to keep asking this but when do support acts usually get announced. I've never really paid attention to it.

I somehow managed to avoid listening to any of Sabrina Carpenter’s songs. She’s everywhere.
I’m not slating her, by the way — I just genuinely don’t know how her music sounds.

Yeah shes been this years new breakout star. I only know from watching charts every week. I think shes basically another Taylor Swift/Katy Perry/Britney Spears type pop-star.
All I know is shes especially dominant on streaming, so it will really take a lot to overtake her entirely here.
