He does that much less than 2005-2009 Luckily his voice is good, just listen to the performance of Its Good to be free. The only obstacle is that when he doesn't hear well in the monitors he starts screaming. If the sound service does its job well Liam returns to sing even better (We have already seen him in many concerts). his way of singing also depends a lot on how they adjust the audio concert after concert. Hopefully he'll be at all the soundchecks and making sure he's happy with everything before the gigs start.

The possible problem for these massive stadium gigs is that the volume has to be turned up, and when everything goes up Liam also might have to shout more if he can't hear himself properly. Nah. That’s why you have sound desks, operated by skilled mixing engineers. I think Liam just chooses to shout because it makes him feel less nervous in front of large crowds if he’s playing the role of a snarling punk rocker, squaring off against his audience. It’s like when Dwayne Johnson turns up to an occasional WWE event as The Rock, flaring his nostrils, puffing out (even more) his chest, and shouting at the crowd off-mic. When he was in his prime, and being a “pro wrestler” was all he did to make money, he just strolled through it with ease. But now it’s no longer his bread and butter, and presumably he feels less confident doing it, it’s more evident that he’s wearing a mask to help him “get in the zone.”

Yeah, Liam has no experience, this year and in previous years he has exclusively sung for 300 people in a retirement home 🤣

I Listen to LBC all day at work and to hear it in the hourly headlines all week amongst the political stuff is surreal. "So yeah Keir Starmer is doing this, also Oasis".. James O'brien and Tom Swarbrick dedicating parts of their phone ins to the Oasis reunion is madness. Someone made a point that Oasis broke up in 2009 when Labour were in government and we got 14 years of the Tories. Labour come back in and we get an Oasis reunion. The hints of social commentary in Definitely Maybe are just window dressing to an already great album, because it boils down to life affirming sentiments aligned with top class melodies that give it conviction. It's extroverted showmanship by Liam from an introverted soul in Noel. It's euphoric, it's also melancholic. The music treads a line perfectly between the two qualities, often in the same song, same melody and same lyric. No other act on earth comes close to so perfectly balancing euphoria and melancholy. It's why their optimism and happiness is not the forced theatrical fantasy of most acts (hello Queen, latter Coldplay, most popstars) because the melancholy gives it a grounding in reality. It recognises that reality but makes you believe in better things. It's not art, it's not intellectual, it's sincerely emotional. It's a primal thing, and tapping into that and bottling it up in a simple song is genius. No wonder they're still huge. That might be the most beautiful and concise summation I've seen of the dynamic at the heart of Oasis, and why it works. Someone should show that to Noel.

If it weren’t for the photo shoot, I’d say that this is a prank and Noel didn’t know anything about a reunion until he saw the headlines on Sky News.
Why the silenceeeeee.

It's quite obvious and has to be PR 101. Get Liam off Twitter while everything is going the way they want it to go and people are buying gobs of tickets to see them. Why risk Liam saying something the press runs with and turns the tide against them while people are forking out hundreds of pounds? The naysayers are chomping at bit for any crumb they can find to blast oasis online. Don't give them anything. Quite simple, really. When the tickets are sold, we'll get our next crumb from the Gallaghers. Maybe Liam will send Noel a teddy bear.

Because Oasis were associated with New Labour, there's this thought from social commentators that their popularity stemmed from optimism of a new government. Yet everyone fails to realise their best albums came during the Tory administration. So it discredits the idea that their music was a mere side effect to over-inflated optimism. It's such a cliche, and I'm surprised so many journalists still fall into that trap. Much like dunces like Simon Price who think Oasis presaged nationalism and Brexit. If that's the case, why are so many Gen Z youngsters jumping on board, those who know nothing of the 90s and those who are hardly catalysts for far-right ideology? Heck, even I only got into them as an angst ridden teenager at the start of a horrific recession, hardly an optimistic time... So for all the accolades the soap opera between Noel and Liam being analysed, and the 'intellectual social commentaries' on the band, I don't know why writers fail to mention that the simplest answer to all this is, as Noel says in Wibbling Rivalry, 'MUSIC! MUSIC! MUSIC!' The hints of social commentary in Definitely Maybe are just window dressing to an already great album, because it boils down to life affirming sentiments aligned with top class melodies that give it conviction. It's extroverted showmanship by Liam from an introverted soul in Noel. It's euphoric, it's also melancholic. It's a primal thing, and tapping into that and bottling it up in a simple song is genius. No wonder they're still huge. They're calling it the post of the year! The post of any year! Beautifully written and bang on!

Be truthful, did anyone think it would be this big? I was too young to experience the 90s and have no reference point. I've been staggered to the point expectations have lowered to 'miracle' if I got a ticket tomorrow morning. Even this forum, jeez, a month ago it was dead. Given the worldwide attention this got, it's a mixture of pride and bemusement that something that never strayed from the minds of all us dedicated posters for 15 years is international news. Its amazing, front page news on the BBC website day after day. Front page news on the tabloids (Okay its the tabloids but you know what i mean). Loads of gigs getting sold out as the demand is insane Just loving it. Think back to the Beady Eye days, saw them play at O2 Academy in front of about 300 people, depressing. Liams comeback was brilliant. Noels divorce helped i think ! 15 years seems like its gone quite quick. Just hope its a huge success next year live, should be as Liams voice is far better than the late Beady Eye years

How does demand for the reunion tickets compare to the demand and hype for Knebworth ‘96. Someone who is there, please answer! My pal was number 436,000 in the queue for Croke Park. The population of Ireland is 5.5 million. Basically 1 / 11 people in Ireland were after tickets.

But because they went on sale an our before the U.K. I’m sure they weren’t all Irish! Still a staggering amount all the same!

How does demand for the reunion tickets compare to the demand and hype for Knebworth ‘96. Someone who is there, please answer! Difficult to compare because the web was still in its infancy in 95/96 and you had to either queue up at a record shop or buy the tickets over the phone back then. The hype in the press over the band back then was massive though.

So excited for all you folks catching them! As an American, I discovered Oasis right at the start of 2010 totally by accident, not even due to any recent "break up hype" or anything. So I've always had to deal with the fact that I was THIS CLOSE to being able to see their last tour...ugh. Had to wait for Noel in 2012 but I digress. Currently I am 29, and while I can't afford a trip overseas, I HAVE officially begun putting away $40 from each week's paycheck to save for what I pray are US dates to be announced next year. I am prepared to pay the big bucks if I have to. Fucking don't want to, but this is a once in a lifetime/never in my wildest dreams scenario. This is even crazier than realizing I was able to see Paul McCartney a few years ago (after 15 years of accepting I would never get to!). I also do not want to sit in anything less than decent seats - I'm sorry, but if I'm at a stadium gig and I'm up in the nosebleeds or more than halfway back, I may as well just stay home and watch the damn dvd, ya know what I mean? And if that means I have to pay $500 for a "decent" seat....well, that's literally why I've begun saving money a year in advance, ya dig? If this is happenning (and I can't imagine their won't be US dates of some kind), I am attending at all costs. This is a dream and I will revel in the glory, lol And I'm going to try to do everything in my fucking power to get the most out of it all, lol. Peace and love and I hope everyone else on their "mission quest" achieves their goals!

Actually I don’t. When I get cats they will more than likely be darker colored; or invest in lint rolls, or stop being a fruit loop who only wears black… God bless. I got a black cat this summer, made me think of you. Post a pic of your cat in the ‘Animals and Wildlife’ thread. Thanks.
