A lot of you are going to give me grief for posting Keith Tidmuss here because you all see Maradona as a God compared to a rookie 20 year old whose cause of death is yet to be determined:

I read on the world news pages on BBC's red button that 100 pilot whales had stranded and died in New Zealand. This is just so sad and I always get upset when anything like this happens. Also, three dolphins were also found dead. It's not known what caused this to happen. On a happier note I saw a lovely squirrel running across the road when I was coming home first thing this morning from shopping.

Didn't know I would feel this affected by a player I didn't grow up with. But Maradona truly was everything that football is. The goals we all know about, but the passion for the game is what strikes me, something that never seemed to have left him. And that's where I maybe should have written about what football *was*. I probably sound like a boomer now, but when you think of the best players today, you don't really think of them as human at all. Fantastic on the pitch, but apart from their lack of a personality, what do we know about them off the pitch? Rape charges and tax avoidance. There's nothing else there. I'm not saying everyone must be charismatic, but if no one is(only exception right now is probably Zlatan), then the game itself is missing something. Maradona was unique as a player, but also the last of his kind that was "allowed/allowed himself"(sometimes to a fault of course) to be a larger than life personality. Thinking about how football is run today, encouraging conformity above all, there will most likely never be someone like him again, not on that level. Goals like his against England can be replicated, but not things like an entire city worshipping you unconditionally the way Naples did and still does today, decades after you stopped playing for them. What a champion! RIP. Agree with every word. Watching him in 1986 as a 12 year old and then following him through the next few years at Napoli, he totally captivated me. I loved the fact that he didn’t give a fuck and could take a kicking and give it back out too. Best player of all time by an absolute mile. Messi and Ronaldo are not fit to lace his boots.

yes, he did and said things that are completely reprehensible but as a player he was the best. I'm still speechless. Thanks for the magic

Been listening to Kermode and Mayo podcasts from 9 years ago, working my way up to now. Surprised at how prevalent the word “chav” was among their listeners emailing in. Thank god that fell out of usage in the years since. It always was a hateful term, loaded with ugly class prejudices that should’ve left behind in the last century.

Regarding whales and dolphins strandings, while nobody knows why they do it there are a few theories though. When all those long finned pilot whales stranded in Australia two months ago, an expert who had studied pilot whales for many years said because whales and dolphins talk to each other and are loud vocal one whale could have been in trouble and the others were answering it's call. And, I remember about three years ago when all these sperm whales beached in Europe and there were some in the UK the theory there was one got sick and the others just followed. But whether that was the case I don't know. Sometimes I wish animals could tell us what's wrong especially in these sort of cases.

Incredibly late, LeTrot. Prednisone should have been picked up by the pre race detection tests. The fact Go On Boy was allowed to race is another nail in the coffin with me.

No idea if it's my political views or what but for the past few years I've noticed being attracted to girls from other countries more and more. When I moved to Glasgow I was honestly ready to find a girlfriend there and stay there (assuming the relationship works). I just find other cultures interesting and maybe because Finland is so isolated ethnically I find the thought of one day starting a family with someone who's from a totally different place kinda exciting.
And this leads the subject to the girl I've started seeing... When we met I assumed she was a local, and well she basically is coz she's lived her whole life here, but I found out her family is actually from Ukraine with her dad from Israel. I just thought that was really cool, especially after she added that she's still on Palestine's side in the conflict (I wouldn't like to get into any accidental arguments lol). My recent interest in genealogy probably adds up to it but I just kept thinking how interesting roots she must have if she's half Ukrainian, half Israeli. No wonder she's so gorgeous too.

Usually time flies but I just started thinking of something that happened in January and I had this weird realisation; "oh fuck, right, it's still 2020!".
Fucking crazy eventful year in many ways, at least for me. I've lived in two different countries and 3 different places, I've been to a surgery which took me months to recover (still not 100% over it) and ended up in A&E three times (once an ambulance was called but I changed my mind mid-call and decided to drag myself to the hospital on a taxi). Dropped out of uni. I've got real feelings for someone twice (the first one was complicated). I started getting panic attacks for the first time in my life and health related worries (including the recovery from the surgery) drove me in a bad place temporarily where I was 90% sure I will take my own life at some point in the future. Then I moved to a commune and spent the whole summer at raves and living totally new kind of life while getting to know new people. At one point I got caught about my drug use to my parents when someone got so worried about my use that she decided to search my sister's facebook and conctact her and that caused a big intervention, but somehow that all brought us kinda close together. Now it's November and I don't know how but I feel better about life than ever before. My psyche is pretty fragile after all this but somehow I feel stronger.

I've just been reading about how tigers hunt and how each tiger has different stripes. No two tiger stripes are the same just like zebras no two animals have the same stripes they're all different. Tigers and all big cats are absolutely beautiful creatures.

I enjoy the fact that, at least for a while, we have Liam back doing promotion. Also, it is great that you can depend on this community to share everything they know and links to the interviews etc., so that as non Brit you do not have to stress out to find them. Therefore, thank you very much, to whom it may concern.

I saw a few black birds around outside my kitchen window today. They're such lovely birds and I always love to hear them sing when I'm out and about in the spring months. When you think about it the spring isn't too far away really in the UK with the way time goes.
