Not for me, no. Johnny already plays on Noel's albums, and personally I think Noel is doing perfectly on his own. He doesn't need a collaborative writing partner, given his entire career of being a solo writer. Liam, on the other hand, needs other writers. Sure he's written a couple good songs, but he's not going to make it on his own. Noel can and is. That's just my two cents. I'd rather Noel continue on his own.

That said, we of course have heard past collaborations, to different degrees of quality, based on the listener. So with that in mind, I would always be down to hear whatever Noel has a hand in. My preference is him writing alone, however.

He has done it since Oasis and has done it in every solo album so the hype factor wouldnt be as prominent as Liam working with Squire.

No, it doesn't need to be done. Noel has to write the songs himself. There is no need for any "co-authors", "co-writers", etc.

They are two incredibly strong artists.. Liam was by far the more relevant of the two in his and Squires collaboration. Noel and Johnny are equals and I can't imagine anything or different that an album together would provide...unlike Liam and Squires album.

I’m firmly in the Noel needs a singer camp. I know this isn’t an oasis thread but I think that if DLBIA was sung by Liam, it would’ve been a bigger worldwide hit than Wonderwall. IMO, other than demos and backing vox, Noel should never have sung, especially in the 90s.

He needs both, he needs fresh ideas. But not Johnny, someone else, someone much younger probably. Also it would be interesting if he tried to work with a good singer, like someone suggested in this thread

It's gotta be a no from me too, like others have said, Noel is much more of a solo writer than a collaborative writer, even though I love Marr as well, just don't think there's any need or benefit for it to be honest.

To be honest I wanna hear more Noel Gallagher guitars in Noel's albuns. IMO Think Of A Number has the best solo of the album and it's not Marr's or Strangeboy's, but the Chief himself.

That's a good call out. I do miss Noel's solos. I'm not sure every song needs one, and as a guitarist myself, I not overly fond of most solos from players people hail as Gods. But I have to say that Noel's have always worked for me, because the compliment the songs so well.
