For anyone who doesn't have the original CD box, the box itself is a hard plastic with a hinge top on it. Very high quality. From the looks of it this is the same, which is great.
The shipping on this is stupid though.

A few extra inches of plastic would add an increment of extra cost yes, but they’d reflect that in the price for sure. It would still sell out. I think it is stupid that they’ve left some of the best b-sides off this box set. Lazy. I think if you're releasing a collectors box of singles then it's natural for it to be the 7" versions – that's the classic single format for pop/rock bands.

Thanks for posting this as I didn't know about it. I'm going to order one as those vinyls look great. I have both the cd boxed set of this album and the (What's The Story) Morning Glory? one. I wonder if they'll do a vinyl version of the latter album next year for the albums 30 years. |

I think if you're releasing a collectors box of singles then it's natural for it to be the 7" versions – that's the classic single format for pop/rock bands. Oasis are a band renowned for their b-sides. This reissue is emulating the previous CD box set which included all the b-sides. So personally I think it is stupid to leave off most of the b-sides. Horses for courses though. If people are happy to smash £80 £62 on 8 songs they already own, all power to them. 🐎 |
