Probably Some Might Say. There's a hint of melancholy in there but overall it's such a hopeful, joyful, energetic tune

She's Electric, only Oasis could go from "He walks along the open road of love and life, surviving if he can.", to "She's got a sister and God only knows how I've missed her". Always a great time listening to it.

Probably Some Might Say. There's a hint of melancholy in there but overall it's such a hopeful, joyful, energetic tune This one every day of the week. It's maybe my favourite Oasis song. It's easy to write optimistic pop songs, but it seems almost impossible to hear one that is sincerely optimistic. This one encapsulates the spirit of Oasis perfectly, it's that undefinable immaterial feeling in a song that no other band matches. Mixing melancholy with an inherent optimism should be impossible, but somehow Noel and Oasis achieved it. One particular moment that makes me smile is the well earnt 'whoo!' from Liam at the end that is the cherry on the top of a perfect song.

The Fame.
The menancing euphoria of the massive BHN wall of guitar noise coupled with Noel's condescending lyrics and delivery never fails to cheer me up. Also includes one of my favorite lyrics of all time: "Is my happening too deafening for you?"

To quote myself from an earlier post: “Every time I listen to Some Might Say, something about the intro just makes me want to smile, like meeting an old friend. It’s not my favourite Oasis song, but if I had to name the prime example of that “feel-good rock” quality they’re often hailed for, it would have to be that one (though Slide Away comes close). From Liam’s vocals to the guitar fills, the whole of SMS just sounds joyful.” So yeah im with yous. SMS is defo the one for me.

My favourite part is the heavy-reverberating "whoo!" at the end before the outro - that could go on forever.

Probably the most joyous thing they ever released.

+1 for Some Might Say.
A massive trick to pull off the melancholy v optimistic/hopeful feel - but that was Noel’s early genius! With a massive Liam vocal and the last roar of Tony M.

I really wish Noel's head had never met his arse and that he carried on writing yer Bonehead's Bank Holidays, yer Round Are Way's, yer Digsy's Dinner's, yer She's Electric's, etc.
