He probably wrote the core of the songs on acoustic, then he wrote/recorded solos and fills with the electric directly in the studio. OK, you're probably right about that and I'm sure in one or two interviews he's said about writing songs on an acoustic guitar. He write the chords sequence first, then melody, then words on acoustic guitar. The rest is "invented" in the studio afterwards. He probably meant he wrote those songs in an "acoustic" setting. Because the Epiphone he used during the MG sound also good acoustic. If i'm not mistaken, the "acoustic" guitar on the Masterplan is an electric Epiphone recorded as is, without amp, as if it was an acoustic guitar. As for Noel fucking up solos, it happened even in Oasis. He also used to fuck up chords. No big deal. I suppose he doesnt practice as much as he used to and "lost it" kinda. But it can come back.

Re Slide Away - I wonder how long it's been since he played the album rhythm part like that? He didn't play it when Oasis did it in 2008/9, or in the Stop the Clocks shows. I think it might have been since 2001. The DLBIA thing was just silly I thought, he played it just fine every night on tour in 2019, 2022 and so far this year. Though I agree with Dan that whenever it's covered no one never seems to nail it. Remember Edge from U2 attempting it in 2017? That was... an eclectic rendition. Seeing him play the D->E bend from Morning Glory was a trip, he's never done that since the record as far as I know. DLBIA solo trouble again. He'll be getting a complex about it soon. Good to see him laugh it off. 3:08 That's great, funny earlier in the solo he looks kind of pleased and surprised he's getting it right too! Guess those 6 years off got him a bit rusty, this might be why he was keen to warm up somewhere other than the UK. Love him turning to Russ and him cracking up laughing. The vibe in this band seems so good I can't see why anyone would want a reunion, did we see Noel this happy and relaxed on stage once in the last 3 years of Oasis? (If there is a reunion though, absolutely keep Russ on bass, he's a good'un.)

Was kinda sad to see him struggle to attempt to play the DLBIA solo, and also the Slide Away intro (the rhythm picking, not the lead) At what time in the interview ? Been browsing the video back & forth but I only found him playing the DLBIA chords, not the solo.

Been browsing the video back & forth but I only found him playing the DLBIA chords, not the solo. In the pedal show video When he has the stratocaster he was just about to start playing it but decided not to as he said “am I going to embarrass myself here”. There’s a video going round from the US tour where he gets it wrong and gives up, but has a laugh about it. I expect he will ask Gem to do the solo from now on. I think he sees himself as a songwriter of melodies and chords first and not a fret board wizard Which is a shame considering he wrote the solos to live forever, DLBIA and slide away etc. he has his own unique style of playing too. He’s inspired many people to want to pick up a guitar, me included. He’s just got a different style to squire, Marr, Weller or those guitarists who’s fingers are really fast. I don’t think these anything wrong with that, we’re all different!

He's got two keyboard and another rhythm guitar behind him, he could even throw it away it wouldn't make any difference

That was sooooo wholesome. Really enjoyed this and made me fall back in love with noel and his playing again. I really love how enthusastic he is about sounds and guitars.
