What I would love: - the actual *song* "Definitely... Maybe" - Definitely Maybe: The Evolution (Demos > Each Failed Studio Session as a separate CD > Final Mixed Version) - Safety Copy of Masters in Lossless - All the unreleased pre-DM stuff ("Baj", "Womb to Tom", "Red White + Blue", "Only My Pride", "Freedom", "Is That a Fact", etc. Hell, I'd even give "Don't Spook The Horse" a listen.) - The full Boardwalk Rehearsal video ...What we'll probably get: - "Supersonic" and "Married with Children" on Mark Lammar and/or the 1993/1994 Evening Sessions - The Boardwalk Basement Tapes

I don't have the first 3 albums on vinyl because of the way they changed the art in the gatefolds. Hopefully these will be faithful reproductions.

He's found a version of Digsy's Dinner that's three seconds shorter, hasn't he? Sounds about right: "Is there anything left from those sessions that haven’t been unearthed? I found some master tapes with some cool stuff on it that’s going to be coming out. It was in the Sony vault and was mislabeled. So, when Oasis did Definitely Maybe, the idea was we would do three takes of each track and then move on. I remember saying to somebody, so presumably, the master version, there’s another two versions, which weren’t chosen, right? They said, “yeah, but the master tapes had gone missing.” It turns out they have been with Sony for the last fucking 30 years, mislabeled. I found them and there’s some interesting stuff on there. Now, we can sell the album for the fifth time all over again." www.spin.com/2023/05/noel-gallagher-interview/

Are you going to do anything like you started to do with the Be Here Now reissue?
Well, I did a remix of “D’You Know What I Mean?” and then the idea was to remix the whole album. I don’t like the sound of it and the songs are too long. After working on it for a week, I was just like, you know what? What’s the fucking point? “D’You Know What I Mean?” sounds great, but let’s leave it how it is. I’d like to remix Morning Glory because I hate the fucking sound of that record. I guess I’ll get around to it one day if all the stars align. You never know.

I love the Beatles anthology. So alternate takes and mixes of these classic songs I’d be all for. Or new mixes of the first few albums, like Noel started to do with Be Here Now.

I'd love to hear Spike Stent remix the nineties material. I don't think it would necessarily be an improvement (outside of Be Here Now) but it would at least give an interesting new take on the records. Combine that with some different takes and it's about as much as you could ask for; there's only so much blood that even Noel Gallagher can squeeze out of a stone, after all.

We've heard enough of the early demos to be pretty sure the only difference between each of the 3 takes is 1. As-issued / master 2. Same instrumental, w/ Liam vocals, but cocked up lyrics 3. Same instrumental / lyrics, but Bonehead's guitar +3db louder FFS, don't tell me you recorded MWC three times in three different "interesting" ways.

I just want a high quality version of the Lock All The Doors/My Sister Lover demo. I love that song. It's just the chorus melody, it's so early-days Oasis I love it. I think with the right recording it could've been a good DM era B-side on par with something like Cloudburst or I Will Believe.
Even the HFB version which I fully admit I have rose-tinted glasses for. I know that version is pure dad-rock and a very weak version of what the song could have been at it's full potential but I still love it anyway even with all it's flaws. For me it's got one of the best choruses that he's ever written.

My 30th anniversary wish list would be:
I Will Believe (studio version from the Supersonic sessions) Sad Song (Liam on vocals) Whatever (with the original All The Young Blues lyrics) I Am The Walrus (studio version with a proper mix) Shakermaker (with the Coke lyrics) Live Forever (demo from Creation for a Nation) Whatever (94 MTV Most Wanted) Live Forever (94 MTV Most Wanted)
Possibly those Rolling Stones covers You Can't Always Get What You Want Gimme Shelter Jumpin' Jack Flash Brown Sugar
A full disk of their 5 BBC sessions from 93-94

£317 tho ... wow. That's serious. I assume it’ll all be on streaming though. Definitely Maybe is going to need something really big for me to buy it for like the fifth time and not just use Spotify. Who am I kidding? 😅

After the sawmills sessions leaked, there's literally nothing left in the vault worth dropping hundreds of dollars/pounds/euros for the 15,000th or something reissue of this album. Maybe full remastered recordings of the boardwalk performances, the King's Tuts performance in full? What else is out there from this era that justifies another "super deluxe" release? I'm going to echo this. What I would want from the band is official remasters of the King Tut's gig and generally, as much stuff from 1993 to early 1994 (Lomax gig) as possible becuase that's when Liam's voice was at its purest and certainly stands in contrast to the rest of his career. Also are the full boardwalk demo recordings available? I know we have snippets of whatever and all around the world, but seeing the full thing would be interesting at the least, maybe as a two piece with King Tut's. As for what I think we'll see? Noel sung versions of most of the album on acoustic, and maybe a remaster of the 1993 promotional Live Forever Demo and an official full version of Liam singing sad song thrown in just to save face. We'll see. I hope I am wrong. Do people also think there's a chance we might get to hear the 10 minute version of Slide Away that always seems to get mentioned from the Monnow Valley sessions? That could be a good laugh.

This 30th anniversary edition of the album will have to be good and worth buying as I don't want it to be full of stuff which I've already got.

The only thing that will make this worth buying is if there are truly unreleased tracks we've never heard of. Maybe that's possible? Noel forgot about them, we know nothing about them
Other than the we have enough demos, alternate takes and live tracks from that era.

Would love to get one of those late '94 shows (including Noels acoustic set) or a Japan '94 gig properly mixed.

I don't need to buy stuff which I've already got from this era and the release will be a waste of time if that's what it'll be. But we'll just have to wait and see.

I have to say, album re-releases with demos etc are beginning to get very boring for me in general. I used to be super excited for them, but I find these days that the majority of them are “listen once and never return to” type affairs. There’s the odd exception like the Queen - The Miracle release, I’ve been listening to that sessions disc non stop, it’s really good.
But for them to release DM again … not many years after it was already released in a deluxe version … and Noel mocked the fans in interviews for buying it back then as well! I’m not too excited for this release.
