I'm watching his "conspiracy" theory. Could be, could be not, we already know a few tunes are about that girl (Talk tonight, Half the world...)
It's easy to connect dots afterwards on a band's career because their work is linear and follow their life. So obviously, you can find pseudo "hidden" messages, because music is always personal. As far as "conspiracy", it's a stretch.
But he notes that Noel carried the weight of the band back then. Only for that, he's right. And it's not recognized enough by Oasis fans. Without Noel's work in 94 through 97, Liam would be flipping burger at the local McDonald's today.

Astounded so many haven't heard of him-watch anything Oasis related on youtube and one of his vids is sure to pop up.His 'Oasis Worst Ever Gig' is a classic.Not being a complete nerd I had no idea the extent to which Liam disgraced himself during that Wembley gig-horrifying and hilarious in equal measure.
As for the 'theories' some are so ridiculous I actually feel sorry for anyone who'd say them publicly.

It's not even dogshit it just hilariously bad. That one with the music video at the wedding or something (was it called 'other side of the party or something?) is one of the worst songs I've ever heard. Genuinely. |

One of the reasons I can't stand him, besides his overthinking and some of his crazy theories, is his whole "this is real music" approach, which usually leads to reactionary and lazy takes I stayed away from his own music exactly because of that, having zero expectations, but today one of his songs popped up in my recommendations and I gave it a go Unsurprisingly, I'd rather listen to Playboi Carti and Young Thug...but but guitars man |

tbf, most of his early oasis content is alright and enjoyable (e.g. when he analyzes the songs and finds things in it; he knows his music theory tbh). just when he ran out of content and did his "conspiracy" bullshit, it went in the wrong direction.
his own music though is so bad, it makes me cringe hard. it's like an oasis cover band of an oasis cover band trying to write a song that nowaysis would have written.

I actually only watched a video he did about Goldfinger by Ash (another of my favourite bands). His Oasis ones are way too long for me to be bothering watching. But he did sing in that Ash video and it sounded like Will by the campfire in one of the Inbetweeners movies ... not good lol

Some of his videos are really good, I think he might have taken it down but he did one where he wrote a Nirvana-style song which genuinely made me laugh. Just got a bit carried away and his own music is pretty cringeworthy. I hope he still makes content about Oasis songs and leaves out the rest but it's a hobby for him at the end of the day so he can do what he likes. I don't think he deserves hate over it.

Hargreaves content can be alright, and there’s certainly some interesting videos on his channel. However, I do feel sometimes he does over analyse a point which really doesn’t need any explanation at all, as he and/or the clip that’s playing tells that particular point clear enough anyway. Continuously doing this means quite a lot of his videos stretch over the 25-30 minute mark when cutting down the explanations they could play at a more acceptable runtime. As hardcore fans, we always poke holes in details that perhaps more casual fans try to come out with as fact, but I think for people getting into Oasis, he’s definitely a good start to knowing some of the finer details, even if I don’t watch him that much.

Maybe Although he did get ultra defensive about Tom Meighan knocking his missus about and even created a full video defending him and that it was blown out of proportion. I found that really weird. The reason I found it a bit odd is because Tom himself didn’t even defend himself to that level. He admitted he fucked up and trying to turn his life around, which Is all you can ask from anyone in that situation really. But James decided to make a video about the media being to blame and they’re vilifying Tom unfairly and it wasn’t that bad etc. I don’t know, I just thought it was a bit fucking weird. I can only assume that it’s because Tom gives him the time of day and that somehow gives credibility to his channel because Tom is a bit famous and YouTube people live and die by their views. I’m not one for cancelling people or anything, so I’m not saying Tom doesn’t deserve a chance to live a normal life without being crucified at every moment, but at the same time I don’t think you need to make a fanboy video trying to justify what he did either and making out it’s not that bad. James just comes across as a bit of an oddball generally. I think he’s a bit socially retarded too. Probably doesn’t know how to read the room, hence the aforementioned video. |
