This is a harmless Heathen Chemistry Era B-Side. I was really expecting something more captivating for the lead single. But Pretty Boy is so good that I'm not even gonna complain. Whoops I already did lol I honestly can’t believe you describes Pretty Boy as “so good” . You sound as deluded as Noel is about that when he said that everyone in his band said it was brilliant. Newsflash Noel you are paying their wages what do you expect them to say .

Justin’s channel is great. Rick Beato is great too, dissecting so many great songs. The kind of 'influencer' that is pretty cool.

I'm going to guess opinions will change about the tunes after the album (finally) drops and everyone gets to hear the songs in context with the rest of it. Or, ya know, in the 5 months between now and then...

I'm always amused by the passionate hatred people have for songs, it's never enough to say they absolutely hate it once, they must reiterate the point on every page of the thread, and can't fathom the possibility that others might like it. I can almost hear the inner monologue.
"They must have shit taste", "They must be lying to themselves"
Ahh human nature, a bizarre thing.

Ironic, since there was that one post were a user said that they "can't fathom" how someone wouldn't like Easy Now. Forums are for posting your opinions, after all. Nothing wrong with it as long as it stimulates discussion. For me: Pretty Boy is a vibe but with a weak chorus, Easy Now is stodgy mashed potato, and Noel hasn't blown me away since The Man Who Built the Moon came wreaking havoc from my speakers in a cold winter morning back in 2017. But he has stock for me to trust him with albums: I've enjoyed all his solo records so far, and we've only had two tunes from this one, so who knows? But I do feel that back-tracking from Holmes ambition-bomb ideas for WBTM has left Noel a little direction-less.

Everything from Who Built The Moon is miles better than both new songs. I just listened to that album today, sonically mindblowing, so much fun and the tunes have it. Man that rattling rhythm of Beautiful World, just ace. It’s the kind of other worldly, atmospheric songs that take your mind somewhere else. It seems like the new album is shaping up to be a massive backwards step from it.
There’ll be no doubt a few keepers on it, but much like Coldplay albums today, the most part will be disposable.

Noel hasn't blown me away since The Man Who Built the Moon came wreaking havoc from my speakers in a cold winter morning back in 2017. That song, that sound Truly his masterpiece from the last 10 years. Most people who don't like the song have been pretty smart about it i thought. And pretty civil. We are die hard fans, of course we're gonna moan when our model from our teenage years release an average tune. It's like being betrayed by (insert family member / friend name here). It's heartbreaking. There still could be a reason behind all this : maybe the last tour was a bif of a financial disaster and needs to get the cash. Who knows. He said he wouldnt go back and would go that "different" route and here we are. Weird.

And I agree people are allowed opinions, that's exactly my point, but the wording from the negative ones (as well as that positive one) certainly doesn't come across as opinions, more like they are trying to state fact, much like the below quote. For some it's more like "you're opinion is wrong, and mine is right", which is the death of good discussion, not the life of it. Everything from Who Built The Moon is miles better than both new songs. In your opinion, of course. I and others think very differently, which is just as valid.

Now let's do war. Winner records the truth.

It's fine to not like everything your favourite artist puts out, it's normal actually I have more problems understanding those who cast a negative shadow over a record that comes out in 5 months, but that may just be because I try to never trust singles anyway We're here to have debates, as long as it's civil it's all good

This fascinates me because I absolutely can't stand Who Built the Moon and I would put it as one of the great musical disappointments in our lifetime. Holy Mountain is actually my #1 worst Noel song of all time followed by What a Life and Pretty Boy. Holy Mountain makes my ears bleed.

I feel like a double agent in the war: I actually like Easy Now and I have been listening to it a lot but, at the same time, I really wish the album goes in a less predictable direction. I am not saying "experimental" or even "dance-oriented", simply "different". Songs like 'Flyin on the Ground', 'A Dream is All I Need to Go By', 'Who Built The Moon', 'Keep on reaching', 'She Taught me How to Fly', 'Blue Moon Rising',... all have strong melodies (as Easy Now has) but are different and varied in terms of production. Of course, it could still happen that the album actually has that variety: we have only heard 2 (quite different) songs.
