Any Walking Dead fans still around?
I started watching the show the day it aired and I stuck with it until the very end, even through its ups and downs.
I can't say I was too pleased with the ending, largely because it's not an ending. It sets up the ending (through the spinoffs). But overall, it's a good show with some amazing episodes in at least every season and a few solid seasons from beginning to end.

I saw the Finale and was surprised it didn't really "end", as I bailed on the show I think right around the time when Rick left (Season 9? 10?). I found the show really hard to stick with...just too many characters I didn't really care about and no real driving narrative other than moving from one "evil community" to the next to fight off. Watching the finale after skipping so much, I was laughing at how the current evil community had a bunch of bootleg Star Wars stormtroopers in it. Was that ever explained? Looked like Spaceballs or something.
I actually had no idea they had so many spin-offs planned, so the finale was kind of a send off for just the minor characters, I guess.

Yeah, the storm trooper outfits were a bit much, but you get used to them throughout season 11. It's just their outfits as part of the reformed government (they don't even seem effective against walkers lol). The Commonwealth was basically society reborn. Things within the walls are much like they were before the walker outbreak.
I guess the progression was that they were trying to rebuild the world (advancing Hilltop and Alexandria) and so finding that last community, the Commonwealth was a big step forward, but power corrupts and the people in charge were evil, so they had to go.
But yeah, it was a send off mainly for the minor characters. Most of the mains will be back, minus Carol. I'm looking forward to Rick's spinoff the most. Because in my opinion Rick is and always has been the show. Dead City is looking good too though.

Yes I watched the whole thing. Early seasons were extremely good but the pacing of the show became a problem when they went to war with Negan and that battle dragged on for to many seasons (just a single season arc would have been fine). The show lost it's confidence for a little while after that and seemed a bit directionless but eventually kicked back in and the last few years have been pretty solid viewing. I think it is a series that suffers greatly with it's initial broadcast format - the weekly episode drops and split seasons made it hard to follow with so many different characters being focused on. There could be month long gaps between catching up on what a particular character was up to. It's certainly a series that will benefit from rewatching at your own pace. Eventually I'll marathon everything (spin offs included) in strict chronological order (I have a list going thanks to a couple of websites) and see how it all hangs together. Might have to wait a couple of years for the franchise to completely wind down and finish first. I'd have preferred a final season that focused more on finding an initial cause and possible cure for the zombie virus but we'll see where the spinoffs go. Given the hints in the French laboratory scene in WORLD BEYOND it's quite possible the Daryl Dixon series (sent in France) might well cover this ground. Then maybe a final Rick/Daryl mini-series that ties all this together.

But in general, I've rewatched most of the seasons several times over and I still enjoy it. They really should have focused on less characters.

When they axed Frank Darabont after season 2 the style and singular vision the show had fell apart. Frank can be a prick to work with but he had a clear place he wanted to the take the story within a limited number of seasons. Season 1 is a flawless single season of television. Season 2 suffered from AMC interference and was carried by the performances and dialogue. Post-Darabont, I couldn't get into any of it, you could tell the creative direction had shifted completely. I, like many, tuned in based on pure curiosity to the Season 7 premiere, but other than that the show continued to meander with adapting the Kirkman source material, and the multiple time jumps severely disjointed the storytelling, and the couple of major changes to the main characters compared to their comic counterparts spelled the decline of the show.
Kirkman's run isn't perfect, but the story is cohesive and was given a proper conclusion. The spinoffs and constant milking of a franchise that was destined to be one single cohesive story centered around a man and his offspring is nonsensical in my honest opinion.
