Is this the lowest scoring single?…hence worse Noel/Liam single ever on here then at 5 ?! <5 - 32 votes >5 - 73 votes The mode is probably 7, not 5. Strictly speaking this rather flawed poll doesn’t even have 5 as an option because the first option is less than 5, not less than or equal to 5. But assuming that first option covers an equal spread of votes 1-5, the most voted for (mode) would be 7. vine.co/v/ej1ED1Faip5/X

It's alright, not bad. A bit repetitive.
Better than some of the recent shit he's released.

I like it. It doesn't sound like anything Noel has done before while still sounding like Noel. Honestly don't get what people find so awful about it, it has melody and punch. Maybe a bit repetitive, but not too much.

I went with 6/10, seems fair to me. And that includes a bonus point for namechecking Elvis.
The music sounds good, the lyrics though are half-arsed at best.

I've listened to it enough the past two days that I've had to bump it from a 5 up to a 7. I'm a little bit offended to rate a song that high with lyrics that low-effort, but the guitar riff, the bass riff, the chorus, the general groove are all really working for me. Aside from a couple of the quintessential Noel-style ballads (Sail On, Dead in the Water) this is probably my favorite thing Noel's done since 2015.

i've listened to it on monday. then couldn't be arsed enough to listen again. then i gave it another spin yesterday. i even couldn't be arsed enough to write something about it yet. it's not extreeeeeemly bad (so not as bad as for what it's worth or too good for giving up or once, which are all extreeeemly bad), but it's also not good. it's in the "whatever... i don't care enough for it, i probably will not listen to it again" range.
5/10

I’m a bit shocked by the results of this poll... 30% less than 5? What is everyone expecting from Noel? It’s no masterpiece (but what is, there’s no way back to what he did in the 90’s), but it’s got modern sound, without being dance territory BSD style, has melody, it’s catchy, good groove and attitude, really nice guitar bits (even if it’s Marr’s, so what). Complaining about Noel lyrics in 2022, where have you been the last 25 years?? And this is considering we’re in an Oasis forum and there’s a strong common ground in music taste… I don’t get it.

Well, the things is that it doesn't have modern sound, has weak melody, it’s not catchy, groove and attitude are not really there, and ok, it has really nice guitar bits.

Agreed and we all know how daft some of Noel's lyrics are.

I'm feeling like it's a 6/10 at the moment. But the truth is, if it were from any other artist, I'd say 5/10. So I know my feeling is bias setting in.

When you're happy, you enjoy the music, but when you're sad, you understand the lyrics

Noel typical stayed away from social matters and that was one of my favorite things. It's disappointing but I feel this is a one and done.
Anyways, This song isn't very good. It sounds like cheap production and all over the place lyrics.

I feel like everyone who's hearing "social matters" or "woke" themes in this song is getting a lot more out of it than I am. What do you guys think the song is about??

SNOWFLAKE. IDENTITY POLITICS. That's the sum of it. At the end of the day, it's a chill and low-budget lyric video for a song that touches on themes with all the force of a feather-on-Valium. Noel is not coming out with any transgender revolution here, as fun as it would be if he ever did.

It's about wanting to be someone you're not. The boy and girl mention in the lyrics/drag is just to make it more obvious.

Noel should stay in his lane. Flying on the ground, We're on our way now have that radio friendly melodic element that brings out the best in him. It's classic Vintage Noel in every way and it almost always works. I can play those for the rest of time and they will always sound beautiful and pretty.

Very nice and original arrangements. That's the only redeeming quality of the tune. The melody, especially the chorus one, is abysmal. I don't know how a melodist of Noel's level can compose such a mediocre tune and think it's good enough to be released as a lead single.
It's even more frustrating knowing that if no one is looking for Noel to compose gems like Half The World Away or Slide Away in 2022, a nice song like Flying On The Ground showed that Noel could still have a good ear for melody.
