Rating Post, as always.
8/10 on first listen. Which is a good sign from me. Subject to change
But no higher than an 8 or lower than a 7.

Gave it a 7 for now, could become a 8 if I keep enjoying it as I do after the initial hype
I get where people are coming from with the criticism, but for me the vibe and instrumentation just work There's no big chorus or hook but all the elements are catchy enough in their own right

I like the sound a lot, way more than I did any of his EP dance stuff, but these lyrics, my god Noel. Did you even try at all?? "She's a lot like me / she's a lot like you / No matter what you say / No matter what you do." Are you kidding me? My most charitable interpretation is that he's trolling us, but I think it's more likely that he really cared this little.
It's about a 5 for me now. Might improve a notch once I get used to the lyrics and can ignore them.

Feels very low effort. Especially coming off those other songs he kicked out in recent years.

Feels very low effort. Especially coming off those other songs he kicked out in recent years. I feel he's clearly written that for streams. Even the lyrical theme, the "video". It's all too much rooted on social media topics to be a spontaneous statement, something he cares about. I dont mind it as it is, not that there's anything wrong with that (see what i did there), but seriously, Noel is best left off social commentaries. Leave that to other bands. Noel, you are not Lou Reed or David Bowie or even Jarvis Cocker, you will never be. Songs about stuff shining were fine, really.

I don't mind basing it around political and social issues, the video itself is quite good, but it deserved a better song.

And I’m a Noel fanboy !

7/10, probably generous.
I'd stick it in the same category as Black Star Dancing, one of his weaker dancey tunes, it'll be an interesting one to hear at gigs though.
AKA What A Life and TBOTMI take a dump on it from a great height as studio tracks.

Liam vocally managed to blend Lennon, Rotten and Ian Brown with something personal, creating a very distinctive voice and approach to singing. Noel has decided to become the 2000s "copy" of Robert Smith both from a singing point of view and with songs. This thing will get him nowhere. Everyone has their place and when you pretend to be someone else it doesn't work.
