I've always enjoyed this song but this version wasn't that great, tbh. The trip-hop production on the original elevates it to something greater while in acoustic form just sounds like another milquetoast RPA number.

I'm surprised this collaboration doesn't sound better. It is one of my favorite solo Richard songs. The vocals sound mesh mosh. Almost like they weren't together and just layered over one another. Its ok. Thought it would be much much better. That's exactly what I was thinking listening to the harmony bit. Liam sounds good on his own so we shall not worry about his vocals being too BE-y on his next album, but yeah, this could've been much better.

I prefer his 2000 album vocal much more, but overall the idea of sandwiching nasally Liam and graveled Richard vocals sounds off to me.

People will pick because there's naff all else to go through at the mo gallagher wise. If his vocals sound like this in the new album then I will be happy.

Not a bad LP and I like the track selections but I think to myself what is the point? Sonnet sounds like original Sonnet but without the lead guitar and if you’re gonna call something Acoustic Hymns, they should really be acoustic without any overdubs in my opinion

It's a bit upbeat for my taste, but it's growing on me. Liam does sound great😊

Liam sounds great. Unlike others on this forum I really dig Ashcroft's first solo album, including this song so it's a pleasure to hear it sung by Liam. Liam should cover a few Verve tunes, they would suit him. Yes he sounds great. I love RA albums, ok some not great but...instantly recognisable and hit home

Love the original and wasn't keen on this version but it's growing on me a bit.
Love this album though. Velvet Morning is unbelievable.

It was nice. I like the song, upbeat and catchy, what else do you want. And this version sounds good. I’d say not worse than original, mainly because of right tempo I think. Liam sounds great but I’m still not sure about his voice. I think they recorded it in the summer/autumn 2020, didn’t he tweet about it? I’m worried that him breaking his nose could affect his singing voice. Oh well we’ll know about it eventually

Didn't know about this! Nice surprise. I like it, but maybe it's just because I hear Liam singing. They should make a supergroup!

An edited version of this song was played on Chris Moyles Show on Radio X this morning (3:06:50 if you are listening on catchup). They have made it their "Record Of The Week", despite the fact its been out for months now.
To my ear it sounds a bit more than a standard radio edit, it was shorter but also the vocals/music sound like they've been mixed differently, guitar parts and drums were louder than I remember also the vocals sounded like they'd been edited slightly aswell at times. I could be wrong but that was my first reaction. Sounded better if anything.

I’d assume it’ll show up on digital stores soon.

Edit: I had listened to it through my phone speaker whilst listening to the radio, now that I listen again with headphones, I can now hear the drastic difference

I just bought the EP on itunes for $1.99. Has the radio edit and long version of the new mix plus the original acoustic mix. Great song, I have slept on RA too long
How do his singles/albums do compared to Liam in the UK?

Hard drop off from that point.

For as much as I love Ashcroft and he's obviously the better musician, he has nothing like as strong a setlist nor anything like as many culturally significant songs. It's laughable to even entertain the idea.
