WBTM Doc - Unreleased Song (Read 1,606 times)

Anyone ever notice this? Around 5:20 mark Johnny Marr is heard playing guitar to a song that is clearly unreleased. Wouldn’t it be cool if for RSD, NGHFB just released all the outtakes to the first 3 LPs? I remember hearing Sail On was recorded for the CY sessions and he just forgot about it- and what a tune! Mate, if that’s the kinda stuff lying round, he’d be crazy not to release it all before the next album cycle.

I don't remember seeing this and I wasn't sure when Sail On was written to be honest. Not that I'm a fan of the song though.

not sure! It’s super short but totally dig the vibe. Sounds like it woulda fit perfectly on the record. Wonder if he’ll ever revisit it.

Whatever this song is, I would love to hear it one day and I hope that Noel revisits it at some point. But I guess that time will tell.

I vaguely recall him saying Johnny Marr worked on two songs in the Moon sessions but only one made the album.

Another spare track for consideration for his DOUBLE ALBOOM I guess.

The clip's miniscule but what I can hear I like. I believe 'The Dentist' was an unfinished track from the WBTM? sessions and I think there might have been another called 'Daisies'. A version of 'This Is the Place' also comes from those sessions.

Yes there was definitely a track called Daisies. A snippet was included in an Apple documentary, but I haven’t personally heard it because I’m not an Apple Music subscriber.

The Dentist though was an earlier version of Black & White Sunshine.

I remember reading a Noel interview where he said that Holmes favorite track from the sessions didn't make the album and he told Noel he was crazy for leaving it off. Maybe that snippet is it?

Yes, that looks like it. The snippet plays while Logic music software can be seen on a computer screen. theseventwenty may remember more.
