There was an indication he recorded in Brendan Lynch's studio last summer before his own studio was ready. Maybe he's going to release something from those sessions? He said 4 tracks were finished in those sessions, so it’s definitely possible. X

It would be great if we got a four track EP but I doubt it very much if he wants to save some of the songs for his next album. As for a new album itself I doubt very much we'll get a new album from either Noel or Liam this year not with Covid still around and it's not going away just yet.

Covid can't stop everything now there's a glimmer of hope of normality. Surely especially for aging rock stars. If either of the bros release something decent now it will still go down a storm when the gigs come along. There's that much pent up demand for new shows that they probably don't need a release tbh but not getting any younger after all

Wonder if Noel would consider assembling the 3 EPs + 4 additional songs for a compilation album.

I doubt the industry will Go without gigs this year. They will do some at 30 or 50% capacity and raise prices. And keep them at that same price when its back at 100%, because why not.
Id say Noel gigs will happen later this year. So very hopefull for a new album.

As a result, festivals, including Leeds/Reading, have already sold out. I expect we’ll be back to full capacity gigs in the UK in summer, no faffing about with reduced capacities for long if at all. If Noel is announcing new music soon, there’s a good chance he’ll be announcing gigs for later in the year too. Fingers crossed. X

Man, I’m getting excited that this could be a lead single to his next album. Could it really be finished...? X

X I'd be surprised if he managed to finish it off in a month and a half, maybe he renounced the idea of getting the musicians in the studio and just sent the track to them like Weller did? Or he could still be working and what we're getting is one of the already finished tunes

Well, it will be interesting to see when and anything is announced and if we are actually going to get a new single from Noel. But I doubt very much that he'll have finished his new album just yet.

The only option that makes sense in my head is a new album... To release a single or EP while he's working on a new album doesn't make much sense for me.
If we're talking about gigs on the second semester, an album fits perfectly on that agenda. He could do the debut strategy of releasing three singles before releasing the album and touring...

I strongly believe whatever video this is for will be for a brand new album. Could it also be a one off single? Maybe. I doubt Noel would be using up any new songs on another EP when it’s time for another full on NG album. Whenever Noel does announce a new album, expect a 8-10 week lead. I’m thinking late April or early May.

Maybe not even a new song - could just be a video for one of the EP songs that didn't have one.

Double album you heard it here first I was quite hopeful his next album would be a double, but if he’s finished it so quickly and without proper access to his band, then I expect it’ll be a single. We’ll find out soon enough huh. X

We’ll find out soon enough huh. X Does he even need his band? Noel plays a lot of instruments himself plus he always seems to have his studio techs do a lot of lifting like drums and bass. I could easily see Noel having those guys contribute again. People like Strangeboy, Emre Ramazanoglu, Jason Falkner (who Noel never met when making MOON) and Keefus Ciancia. There weren’t really a lot of people in the studio when Noel worked with Holmes. A lot was supplied via file drop.

He also has a record company whose wages need paid. I'm sure getting them doing stuff is better than waiting to top up the cash pile with some touring.

He's the one who said he wanted the musicians in the studio Strangeboy is one of his resident engineers now, so I assume guitars and bass will be shared between them two, but then I imagine the personnel will be similar to the first two records, the guys you mentioned were mostly Holmes connections

If Noel was telling the truth (for a change) about the recording of WBTM being done from scratch in the studio and the sessions starting some time around 2014(?), I'd imagine he would still have been writing in the "traditional" way at the same time and keeping the songs back for the future, so that would mean 5 years plus of songs, given the usual cycle of 3-4 years between LP's that should mean there's enough for 2 albums (or a double!) Anyway there's obviously something happening, best case scenario: new (double?) album, next best:a one off single, but it's fuckin Noel so it's probably just a tarted up we're gonna get there in the end

“These days a lot of people don’t bother with proper videos, but Noel is a bit old school and still values a video that helps communicate the message of a track. Clicked the link by accident, proper fuckin journalism right there, everyone knows Noel loves a video right enough, shitebags
