Good idea and I'm looking forward to it, but as we know Noel, you never know if it actually comes out...

So this is all going to end with him just re-releasing his live Bacharach cover and calling it a day, right?

Being positive does this mean his studio is finished now?
(Iβve been out of the loop recently due to these Covid shenanigans making me mad busy at work).

This is another case of tabloids taking some quotes from the Matt Morgan's podcast while giving no context whatsoever and making an article out of it
Matt was asking fan questions and he was like "if you made a cover album what songs would be in it", there's nothing concrete to it as of now and there may not be for the next 20 years

I read this on Stop Crying Your Heart Out. This story was in the Daily Star after all which is as bad as The Scum. So I'll take it with a pinch of salt & wait & see if anything is announced by Noel himself.

Any idea what happened to Morgan's podcast? No new episodes in forever.

If Noel does ever release a covers album I wonder what Liam will have to say about it. No doubt he'll slate it.

So he's gonna cover all the songs he's already covered? Typical

Hmmm not a good idea. And I doubt he was serious about it. But if heβs gonna do this Iβd advice him not to cover famous classic songs performed by far better singers. It will bring not very favorable comparisons (re: every cover he did before). Maybe some obscure or old and forgotten ones.

I generally prefer Noel's solo work to Liam's but I think I'd rather Liam did a covers album than Noel.

I think Noel is a better songwriter than a singer (although he has his moments, like The Importance Of Being Idle), so maybe a covers album with other singers covering his songs.

I love both Noel & Liam but I don't think a covers album is a good idea for either of them to do. I mean I don't think it would sell that well if one of them did release one to be honest. I for one would want to hear new music & not some covers of old songs.

Who'd have thought that Noel's refusal to cover (up) would be the next thing out on the podcast

I see cover albums as something an artist does when the songwriting well has dried up.
