I’ve been trying to learn more about the EP Recording Sessions for the 2019 releases (Excluding Wait and Return). These were known as the ‘Touring Brand EP’. After trying to research, it doesn’t seem like it’s all ‘touring brand EP. I would love for people to look at the points and let me know if they know where I’m correct or where they know I’m wrong. There is MUCH less detail about credits on these EPS on the Web relative to the albums.
Even though it was billed originally as touring band EPs, I don’t see any evidence that Russell was on these EPs . He’s never credited on sites like Allmusic or Discogs. Samuel Dixon played base on This is the Place (I think left over from WBTM) and I suspect Noel handled the rest.
Black Star Dancing: Clearly this has Jess and Ysee on it. I’m assuming Sharrock and Mike Rowe as well. Obviously a touring brand track.
Rattling Rose: This song was first mentioned on May 2nd when Noel announced the EP. It was debuted live on May 7th. Live it featured Jess, Ysee, Charlotte, and the ‘Roxy Girls’ (Piney Gir, Emma Brammer, Amy Ashworth) who also were Gaz Coombes backing singers and Gaz Coombes supported NGHFB on this mini tour. However, the studio version ONLY featured the Roxy Girls and not Jess, Charlotte, or Ysee. This is not really the touring band.
Sail On: This one is one of my biggest mysteries. Can’t find anything about it. Originally I thought the high voice was Ysee but then we heard it was an older track from Chasing Yesterday Years, so thought the high voice may have been Joy Rose (Right Stuff) or one of the other female vocalists from that album. However, I’m now pretty sure it is just Noel singing the backing in his high voice. Embarrassingly, I can’t tell. Does anyone know? I liked when I thought it was Noel and Ysee, a nice male and female folksy song. However, I think it’s just Noel.
This is the Place: This may be mostly left over from WBTM. This clearly has Jess and Ysee on it so yes it is a ‘touring band’ track even though it started with WBTM.
A Dream is All I Need to Get By: The female vocals on this track are the 3 Roxy Girls again and not Jess, Ysee, or Charlotte. So not a true touring band track. Evil Flower: I listened to this again and really started to appreciate it. Charlotte kicks this song off, Ysee is all over it, and part of it actually sounds like different female vocals harmonizing together. It sounds to me in parts like a blend of Ysee and Jess just like on the Right Stuff. It’s actually quite beautiful when you focus on the female harmonies on this track. At one point, Jess said she was only on two tracks. We know she was on Black Star Dancing, and This is the Place, so unless this was recorded later, it may just be Ysee and not Jess.
Wandering Star: This one is confusing as we know Charlotte had a role, playing the bell. But the Roxy Girls are on this track more prominently. Don’t really hear Jess or Ysee.
Blue Moon Rising: There is only a hint of female vocals on this and it could be Noel doing high backing vocals. Don’t know if this was recorded after the ‘touring band sessions’.
Come On Outside: Dave Sardy actually has a mixing credit on the Blue Moon Rising EP and I’m assuming it is for Come On Outside even though Allmusic wasn’t specific. I highly doubt Dave Sardy worked on the Blue Moon Rising track.
It seems like these EPs are a combination of Touring Band Sessions, Roxy Girls Sessions, and touched up leftover tracks. Where do you agree? Where am I wrong?

The Blue Moon Rising vinyl sleeve explicitly credits Sardy for Come On Outside alone uboasis. Never heard of The Roxy Girls before. I’d just assumed the girls from his backing band were on all the tracks until I saw this. If it helps, according to the vinyl sleeves:- - The whole of the BSD EP was produced by Noel, mixed by Craig Silvey at Toast Studios, London. - The whole of the TITP EP was produced by Noel and mixed by Emre Ramazanoglu. - Noel produced and Emre mixed BMR & WS, Sardy both produced and mixed COO. No musicians are credited on the sleeves, only producers, mixers and remixers. In an interview he said Sail On was left over from recording sessions for Chasing Yesterday, so that’s why none of the backing singers are on it. It’s an old recording from completely different sessions. X

The high harmony vocals sounded originally like a female but then started to realize it was Noel falsetto. However I really like Noel singing with accompanying females so I was holding the thought that the other vocal track was one of the female singers from chasing yesterday.
