George Harrison started the Traveling Wilburys Super group basically because he was collaborating with Tom Petty on a B-side and one thing led to another. If Noel were to ever start a 'super group' it would clearly start with Paul Weller.
If Noel were the George, and Paul Weller were the Tom Petty, who would be the Orbison, Lynne, and Dylan? This is NOT who you would want, but what would be the most logical and reasonable based on the current music landscape and the musicians that Noel respects and gets along with?

Based on Noel's friendships and connections I guess Pete Townshend would be involved. Maybe Bono on vocals and Dave Grohl on drums (they're not friends as far as I know but Dave has expressed so many times how much he respects Noel).

Revised my list about 5 times, the most logical:
Noel Gallagher Paul Weller Johnny Marr Damon Albarn
Tough call for drums, does Noel get on with Taylor Hawkins?? I know Taylor loves Noel.

Taylor doesn't like Noel anymore. He would make a good Jim Keltner for Liam's version of Traveling Wilburys. Grohl would be in it too. Fits the Wilburys model as part British part American

I reckon Johnny Marr is a given, being a friend of both and having worked in a similar setup with Electronic.
Maybe Damon Albarn, although he’s got a lot on already with Blur, Gorillaz and TGTB&TQ.
Possibly Bono or someone else from U2. Maybe Lars Ulrich, or Bernard Sumner?

Don't know if Bono would do it. Marr, Weller, (maybe) Albarn, Gem Archer (he's Noels right hand man, whether he belongs or not), Maybe Steve White, since he has a good reputation and track record, and has worked with Noel.

Steve White thinks Noel is a wanker. What about Alan? He fell out with him too. Starkey? What about Tony Mc...oh wait. It’ll have to be the drummer from Tailgunner...hmmmmm...

Didnt Steve fall out with Noel over how he handled Alan’s departure? Claiming Alan had been fired while Noel had said he’d quit.

I would consider it extremely unlikely that Steve would play with either Liam/Noel again. But obviously just my opinion.

I think we lost the plot a bit here on who would drum. The Wilburys had a session drummer (James Keltner) and he was not officially part of the group from a marketing/named purpose. Therefore, I think people nailed it here with Noel, Johnny Marr, Paul Weller and if NGHFB's is any indication, a periodically rotating cast of additional musicians.

Paul Weller wouldn't be famous enough to get into a Travelling Wilbury's setup any more.

He doesn't need to worry because (on merit) he wouldn't be in anything. And he's a collaboration whore! he can't leave the house without making Villagers write a song for him or having Graham Coxon and Ocean Colour Scene make him an 8 Track compilation for his scooter. This whole thing wouldn't work anyway.

Noel, Johnny Marr, Damon Albarn, Lars Ullrich would be fun if they work together and do a project
