Think we’ll be in full lockdown again over the whole UK in a matter of weeks. Hope I’m wrong. Germany is heading the same way even though we haven’t had a full lockdown before.

To be fair the last time we had one the people listened and stayed indoors, I don't think they will this time. It didn't work last time, we're in a worse position now that what we were in March, what's the point in doing it again?

It didn't work last time, we're in a worse position now that what we were in March, what's the point in doing it again? Well it does work in that if we are all at home and have no contact with each other, the virus has nowhere to go and the number of infections and therefore deaths go down, just as we saw during the first lockdown. But aye, long term it doesn’t work as the virus will just start spreading again once we all start mixing again. Another lockdown would halt it for a number of weeks though meaning the NHS won’t be overwhelmed over December/January, that’s the theory anyway. We need a proper track, testand trace system ultimately. Johnson and his crew have made a royal cock-up of that in England and Wales. We are doing a bit better up here with that.

Think we’ll be in full lockdown again over the whole UK in a matter of weeks. Hope I’m wrong. Germany is heading the same way even though we haven’t had a full lockdown before. Same as here. We have the "partially lockdown" from last night 10 PM. That means all the pubs/restaurants are closed at least for 4 weeks. Selling alcohol is forbidden from 8 PM. Working from home is strictly advised unless impossible. Wearing a face mask inside the public spaces will be required by the law within a couple of weeks although nearly everyone wears one in shops. Football matches are without audiences. Max. 30 people for the events including gigs, theatre and all that. Max. 3 people to invite at home and max. 4 for gathering outside. Last night groups of idiots gathering to "celebrate" the final night at pub while there was a debate about Covid-19 restriction going inside the government building. It was even reported on BBC news last night. Schaam je, idioten!

Are we going to have national lockdowns every few months? Something else needs to be done because we haven't progressed in 6 months

As I say it needs to be used as a delay tactic so the NHS can cope until we get a vaccine or/and a proper track and trace system.

Wales have now said they are implementing bans on people coming across from England from Covid hotspots. No idea how they are going to implement that but I'm glad Mark Drakeford came to that decision.

Tested positive last wednesday, I got symptomps since thursday last week. Not feeling sick anymore, but still can't taste or smell anything. I hope that will come back, but read a lot of stories that people who got infected in March still can't smell or taste anything. Fingers crossed!

The fact is if we don't change our relationship with animals then we'll continue to pay the price with these virus out breaks like we are now with Covid. And, this is true.

I know this year has been a horrible one with all this going on and to be honest I don't think that next year will be any better unless they can find a vaccine.

We've been in a partially lockdown for a week now. It's been never full locked down here, but I see it's coming to be honest.
Stay safe everyone!

I fear we'll be in a full lockdown by December. The funny thing is that I still don't know anyone personally who tested positive.

He still can’t taste anything though and has an ugly smell in his nose.

Every single person I know says the same thing I know three that have been positive for covid. I only have been near them for a short amount of time(only one of them, where he had it for a month before he went to my workplace) or have been talking with them vía phone.

My brother's friend's mother had it, and so did his co-worker. And then a friend of the family had it. Have a feeling that people here are going to know more people who get it after the election which is why I've been waiting a bit to go do the early voting. Kinda problematic that they got rid of straight party voting this year because it means people are going to take longer to fill out the ballot since there's like 30 different races going on.

I read in today's paper that they hope to have a vaccine ready in the early months of next year. But of course we'll see. Medical workers etc will get it first though.

There will have to be much harder enforcement, I think. Earlier in the year it did work from the perspective of not overwhelming the NHS (although we will learn more in the future about what happened in care homes) and I think that's what will ultimately put us back in lockdown. The government needs to use any time we are locked down to fix test and trace but since they've got very nearly everything wrong this year I have little faith that it will happen and we might find ourselves in and out of harsh restrictions until there's a working vaccine.

I only have been near them for a short amount of time(only one of them, where he had it for a month before he went to my workplace) or have been talking with them vía phone. Some of my friends have taken the test and my sister has been tested twice actually, but no one had a positive result. I must say there really hadn't been a lot of cases in my area until summer arrived, but as of now we're no better than the big cities here. Most of my friends live in or near places where it's really bad and my colleagues travel a lot. I guess that's why I find it very typical that I don't know anyone who got it.
