Best solo-Gallagher album. Best Gallagher album since Be Here Now. More imagination and creativity packed into it than any of Oasis latter albums.

Hate the album with a passion. Noel's voice is often buried under needless layers of reverb and that STUPID flute/whistle in Holy Mountain is the most abominably horrible thing in the entire Gallagher catalogue. Funny though, cuz I really love all of the 2019 EP tracks. It's like he figured out how to do what he was trying for on WBTM. Yea, fuck this album

Well it’s been 2 years to the day since Noel mooned us. X I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned this before but I don’t like Noel and his Mooning caper. In fact, I always wonder whether him actually mooning at us would sound better than this steaming pile of dogshit of an album. BUT... for you, Mossy, because I quite like you, I’m gonna give Noel Built The Moon another whirl and hope I’m wrong... I fucking doubt it mind.... ive loved some of his latest e.p stuff, but WBTM misses the point for me. Some of the music is ok on it but some of the lyrical ideas. Nah. Anyhow, here goes another whirl of Who Built The Moon... Don’t let me down, Noel, you great big parka monkey hater

DITW, TMWBTM, FK, Be Careful, and If Love is the Law ocassionally. those are the only ones I go back to I haven't listened to any of the other tracks since it came out, except for the time I saw Noel live

This album came out at a desperate time for me, the same week it released is when I lost a friend to suicide. The infectious joy of the opening half of the album helped me get through that time. It was a weird time, Noel was peak grumpy in interviews but the music was so giddy, its has flaws but my ears always have a good time when I put it on.

Give me the exact same songs with Chasing Yesterday production and I'd have nothing poor to say atll. That being said, when I saw Noel this summer with Smashing Pumpkins, it was a TOTALLY differenty Noel than my first show in 2012!!! Noel has always had a kind of "grouchy" vibe on stage, imo, but this was like a PARTY! I've never, ever seen him looking like he was having so much fun before! I mean, for real, he was visibly having a fucking blast up there and that translated. Complete 180 from 2012. 2012 was terrific, I just mean the on stage persona I associate with him is totally different now than it was then.

The only Gallagher album that has no good songs. Never come back to any.

My least favourite of Noel's solo output. Not because of the experimentation but because there aren't enough songs on it.

My least favourite of Noels albums including the EPs. I know I'm supposed to like Fort Knox and Holy Mountain but they just hurt my ears. The instrumentals are pointless. Beautiful World and She Taught Me are great but the radio edits were actually better. Careful What You Wish For and Higher Ground are good but filler at best. If Love Is The Law... Nah..... The Man Who Built The Moon? Hmmm.. Yes that's alright. Dead In The Water is excellent, but I think he should've recorded a studio acoustic version or even saved it for an EP. Oh well 😎

I like Beautiful world, Love is the law, The man who built the moon and Dead in the water. The rest is mediocre stuff in my opinion. First two tracks are annoying to my ears. I like Black star dancing and This is the place better then those.
A fun experiment for Noel that turned out in a so so record. Let's hope he'll write some songs before getting into his new studio next time.

Loved it when it came out. Still love it now.
Easily the most divisive album in the Oasis/Gallagher catalouge.
Can understand why it's not people's bag of tea but tbh it's not really a far stretch from what came before. Just a slightly different approach.

This is the kind of record that you listen to for it's atmosphere and sound ideas rather than the songs. It still works two years later for me.
Still wish he recorded Dead in the Water properly though. A one off single this year could have been a good idea.

I still think it's the best thing he has done since BHN. Variety, some very strong songs (how can someone say otherwise is beyond me) and finally some uptempo numbers again. Mercury nomination was not by chance

Because the playing is so good on it and so tight, it works just as well as a studio recording imo. My only issue is it being as a bonus track. Just release b-sides again, Noel! Same goes for Liam. Why couldn't the three bonus tracks off WMWN have been three b-sides, one for each single? Make the single an event again!

Don’t let me down, Noel, you great big parka monkey hater Well well well my little Captain Crankypuss, what did you think of Noel’s moon this time around? I quite like this record. It’s fun but it’s far from perfect. Some ropey lyrics. Holy Mountain’s muddiness. Too short. Pointless instrumentals. Should have finished TITP for it. But my god does the title track make me feel like a bad ass, stomping around the office with purpose despite a Monday morning hangover. I still think Noel’s best could be yet to come. If he delivers on his double album promise he really could do his own Physical Graffiti or Melon Collie. He just needs to get the mix of experimentation, melodies and choruses right. It must be tough trying to keep all us armchair producers and songwriters happy! X

Imagine if DLBIA had never been recorded properly... etc this version is nice, but it has that radio recording sound. Better than nothing i guess.

Funny though, cuz I really love all of the 2019 EP tracks. It's like he figured out how to do what he was trying for on WBTM. Yea, fuck this album I'm mostly of the same mind. I don't mind the flute on Holy Mountain though, I mean the doorbell on Fort Knox is way worse. A lot on this album feels unfinished to me. Especially Fort Knox, which had most of the lyrics taken off. It's way too long as is. I'm sure it's better live. I've always agreed with a few on here too that this album is a song short and the first instrumental is in the wrong place. Also, something that has always bothered me about TMWBTM is the story just ends...you have this chorus talking about 'the spider and the fly' and in the end he just goes home? Huh? Seems like it's only partially written and then just welp, it's done! because it sounds cool. The title character is built up and then...nothing happens. Loving the EPs though.
