The "my oh my" part still feels out of place. It's almost like he ran out of time and said "that will do". It makes me feel like even as accomplished as Noel has become on the production side, he still needs someone there to push him a bit to fix some of the rough edges. Otherwise, its definitely a catchy chorus (been singing it all day).

6.5/10, but 7/10 for this poll....likely grower.

A good little tune 7 or 7.5, nothing epic, but a quality album track. My only complaint is the ending- it just suddenly fades out, too soon for me

7. Vanilla.
Lovely song, cute lyrics. I’ll listen to it a lot and enjoy it a lot but it’ll soon be forgotten like most of his EP work. I would have liked it stripped and slowed down, but that’s just my preference and the flavour I most like Noel.

6/10. Not mighty good, not awfully terrible. Sounded a bit heavier live, so I feel a bit let down with the studio recording. Is that Noel's Christmas single? Definitely sounds festive with all the bells and stuff - an interesting choice for someone who allegedly hates Christmas

I’m enjoying it. I don’t hear the issue with the vocals. I’m listening to it with Apple Music, somewhat loud on a Bluetooth speaker. There is echo on his vocal but it just adds atmosphere imo. Thanks simmo for your preview thoughts. It’s just what I was expecting based on your posts. I’m glad Noel decided against the full on bells.

If the vocal performance and or mix were a bit more front and center and not weak, it would be 8/10. Otheriwse it's a 7 for me.
Not really sure what Noel was thinking. Still can't tell if it's poorly sung or a mixing problem.

Not a patch on the live version, but pretty good really. Christmas bells don't ruin it at all in all honesty but the mix isn't good. 7/10, could become an 8 maybe!

I have just upgraded it to 9/10, because yes, the production is a bit muddled, the middle eight feels rushed and does not really fit there, but I have been listening to it on repeat from yesterday and it gets me every time

7/10. Vocals sound better when I put the volume down lower than usual I've noticed. We'll have a nice live and/or acoustic version to switch out on our self-made EPs soon enough though.

Noel's voice in general sounds different, do people think it's a deliberate change in style or just it's naturally changed?

It's a deliberate choice IMO . I thought 'the change' might have had something to do with the production arranging and mixing.
Noel did the production right? Anyone know who mixed these? Is it Paul Stacey?

Can’t stand the my oh my, but the rest is fine.
It’s still essentially Record Machine, though.

It’s bog standard Noel. An album more of this would just be tedious at this stage. I still love hearing Noel sing more ‘traditional’ songs, but not ones that just ape his past.
Things like A Dream Is All I Need To Get By or If Love Is The Law sound fresh and modern, but also a bit different, without being tired rehashes.
Blue Moon Rising is where it’s at.

I gave it a 6. Not really feeling it. I appreciate the Christmas vibes (being a Christmas baby and all) but the song just doesn't attach to me like If Love Is The Law did. I still think This Is The Place is the best song from this EP series so far.

Noel's voice is so bad these days. Singing songs he shouldn't be singing...they just dont work with his voice

I love the my oh my bit. Good song, but giving it a 1,2,9, or 10 is just ridiculous. This isn't amazing or bad.

I'm glad it's growing on others, but the opposite is happening for me. Slipped my vote down to a 5/10. I don't hear anything memorable about it at all.

The sense of entitlement to post that at the EXACT same time as people are posting all over this forum and online that it's one of, if not the, best Gallagher solo song etc is FUCKING STAGGERING. That "someone" was moi, and I took risks to share info on producers, songs, rare b side recordings to be nice to the compardres on this forum in check with progress and a bit of hope when people were Disco-mplaining. Not doing that again. Honestly mate I'll 'stick up' (for lack of a better word, you don't need sticking up for!) for you as much as needed on this. All you did was give your opinion ages ago. You said tons of times that it was just what you'd heard and could change. People took it how they wanted. And in this case they've simply / clearly forgotten/not read what you put anyway. It's mental. Appreciated the info at the time but this is why people can't have nice things Yep this forum has become a stand up to the most aggressive. Fuck 'em I appreciate what you have done.i stumbled on this forum a few years ago and am glad I did being a massive Gallagher fan, I have chatted with some very sound people and been very lucky to have been passed music or links that wouldn't have been able to get which is immense considering Oasis has been put the picture such a long time. It has got pretty venomous now if you stay anything that isn't what the general masses think.

I’m going with 7. Probably would’ve only said a 5 or 6 at first, but it’s grown on me. Nothing amazing but a nice little song.
