Can somebody point me in the direction of Blue Moon Rising? In addition, I'm completely out of the loop - are we 100% confirmed as getting some version of Come On Outside? If so, when? I always thought Noel was lazy. Now I know he's lazy. What gave that away? The 12 year old tune?  ?? What do you suggest? Should he let it go to waste because it wasn't written this year, I swear, people will find a problem with everything he fucking does. |

Well thank fuck he had a rethink. The version I heard was a full on, unapologetic Christmas song that was instrumentally like a parody/pastiche of cheesy Xmas songs you would hear on any Xmas single compilation, where the main instrument was sleigh bells as shakers throughout the entire song (lounger than the drums, acoustic guitars - basically Noel singing along to sleigh bells like a Cliff Richard Xmas single). In addition were the bell chimes you can hear now, which he's kept. But yeah, you may be disappointed that the element of Noel Gallagher doing a Christmas single has been taken away from the final mix, but don't be. This is better. Btw there's another recording that's been done of a song that's an old friend of all of ours that I guess will be released maybe with this or later. Yeah it's confirmed to be Come On Outside track 3 You got me all interested about the other version for WS though... Why didnt he include it on the EP, Wandering Star (Xmas remix).  Great tune. Best of his latest to me. Come on outside...will seriously look forward to this having listened to the demo for years!!! |

I always thought Come On Outside was bang average. Hope he's messed with it a lot.
Wandering Star is pleasant enought though.

Well I love it but I agree that pre-chorus is crying out for a big Noel anthemic sing along chorus. I don’t think every song needs one but if this song had it, it would be a new LBL. But Noel has said he’s wrote enough of those so maybe that’s why he didn’t try and write another and left it as a bside on a random ep.
I was surprised with how very christmasy it was by the man who infamously hates xmas lol. It’s definitely going to be on repeat while we make our holiday dinners.

Come on It's Alright/Outside was a bang average tune with a great riff, hopefully it was reworked before it was recorded by NGHFB.

I'll give it a listen then... after all the comparisons to all sorts of things, it sounds exactly like a song written by Noel Gallagher.....a dollop of sadness mixed with a shovelful of optimism, a half stolen melody or two, with some bells on, and some other bits and pieces, lovely stuff...as for what's going on regarding what's being released and when, which cover art belongs to which song, which ones the single? amazon Japan, do we have a leak of the leak that should never have been? Just to make it more fun, the next thing we hear will be come on outside... |

I think Noel is going to make a second small fortune licensing the Wandering Star intro. If he decides to.. we may never hear it in commercials in the Uk or Us but it’s too good not to use.

The production on this is so strange. I guess he was going for a warm, reverb-y, Christmas feel but it just sounds muffled to my ears. Definite Sardy vibes. Sounds fucking shit compared to previous production efforts. Those drums.... man they ruin it. Talk about weighing the song down, what plodding shite. I listened to it in work today - felt it had Sardy’s filthy hands all over it. |
