Everyone is mostly in decline. Music isn’t selling what if once was. No. And Music is streaming like never before. These are hardly bad numbers of a backlash. Is it all enough to call it a backlash? Is there any need to add a 'gate'? Is.... I don't care, I just wish he'd release again some proper tunes. Thanks. You like many in this thread act like his music is debuting at like #30 and leaving the charts soon after with zero traction or care from fans. He’s still a big draw. You only got that impression because you don't read my postings carefully. I don't act like that So... you brought in many feelings and assumptions. And I once again brought in facts. I love facts Peace & love & wisdom. From your teacher

So he's selling less and less albums ? What a surprise really... Isn't that pattern the same for almost every already established artists these days ? The current state of the industry is for nothing in this ? People are buying less and less albums, that's a fact too, how exactly was he supposed to sell more when sales go down for everyone ? ^^ You answered to somebody else about streaming going stronger, but how many people listen to full albums on streaming ? People mostly listen to specific tunes and make their own playlists these days, while your numbers only consider the "album sales"... Sales aren't the only indicator of popularity, especially these days, money is made live, and it doesn't seem to me than Noel is doing smaller tours than before or playing in smaller places, he still manage to do big outdoors show this summer... Your facts are only showing that his sales are going down, but it doesn't say why, it doesn't say in what proportion it is due to the global health of the music industry... And if we look at your numbers, the bigger gap is between NGHFB et Chasing Yesterday... So the real bad album that caused the so called backlash was Chasing Yesterday then... There isn't a big gap at all between Chasing Yesterday and WBTM, that's also a fact. ^^

They are all getting ripped off. It takes over a thousand streams to equal one album “sold”. Then you gotta factor in the whole playlist aspect of Spotify and how to generate serious stream numbers. It’s all a game. Read what people like Yorke or Swift or Tool say about it. Fascinating stuff.

Those are other people’s observations about working in that system of music consumption. There is truth in that they are saying. Listeners are winning. The artists.......not so much unless you are one of the biggies or legacy acts.

Btw, Noel's recordings arent't doing as good as they once did. See: my previous postings. In which I layed out the facts.

Surprised the first HFB album has sold more than 835,000 UK sales - guess a lot of that was on the back of What a Life.
WBTM has achieved gold status (100,000 sales), while AYW achieved platinum (300,000 sales) in 2018, less than a year after release.
Will be interesting to see how Why Me Why Not does and whether Liam sees a similar drop off to Noel.
Of course sales aren’t always a barometer of how good an album is, it’s all down to individual taste.
Personally I prefer the music Liam’s releasing at the moment - he’s fast building a very strong solo back catalogue.
But that’s just me.

You better stick to "your" facts then because "your" facts don't mean "The" facts. Not that I care about all those charts by the way. Anyway, you and Lennon2217, can you guys agree to disagree? This is getting so boring and tiring. Cheers.

Why wasn't this thread play penned 17 pages ago? It's basically a bunch of insulted Beady Eye fans pretending that the charts are a league table and that Noel is in the relegation zone.
This place is rapidly turning into oasisinet part two which will end up being full of trolls and sarcastic threads.
