Liam or Noel fanboys and fan girls aside. Noel's new stuff (2019) is not good and the people spoken on every outlet. A few of the Noel hardcore elitists may continue to praise it or like if but the reality is, it's pretty forgettable stuff. Granted Sail On is a lovely little number. The rest a very poor for the type of music he is trying to create. Its C and D level stuff and believe me I'm the last person to bash Noel. It shows in the polls on this forum, it shows on the comments on social media, hits/views/plays etc and it sure as hell shows at his shows where the crowds have not been having it for the most part of my knowledge. I'm not surprised when most Liam fanboys can't get into Noel's recent stuff because I can tell what kind of music these people listen to and how limited their music taste is |

MOON sold just as well as CY. Went #1 and contains his longest running solo single in the charts at 3 months with Holy Mountain. He plays huge shows in the UK and Europe, mounted a sizable theater tour in the US in 2018. We don’t know how the EPs are doing because they most likely weren’t registered for the album charts being it’s a 3 song EP and was too long for single chart eligibility. We also know historically EPs do very little business on Spotify. So that alone won’t generate enough streams to move the chart needle. This forum and twitter are hardly scientific methods to gauge if something is a hit or not. Take any subject matter, topic, band, movies, show or whatever, look it up on twitter and you will find a river of shit ripping it apart. That’s the nature of that beast at times. Everyone is a critic and thinks their voice is important. On the flip side you can also find glowing reviews of whatever you choose to look up. The point being is you can’t use that as a tool for success. It just has too many variables. Again, I don’t think people truly understand what the word “backlash” means. |

"Dookie" was very successful and the first commercial highlight of their carreer. That can't be said about Noel's cosmic pop, whether you like it or not.

Music is a subjective thing, I for one am not a fan of the last two EP's, that being said, I'm happy to see Noel experimenting with different types of tracks but at the same time he needn't slag off his fan base hence the whole "backlash" topic. The whole Liam vs Noel fanboy debate is exhausting and boring. No need to tell others of differing opinions to fuck off though. |

Those people are saying he’s suffering from a backlash commercially as well sales/tours. Which isn’t actually happening. They are using opinions to say he’s falling. Hardly objective. Liam crushed Lillywhite over how DGSS sounded and for its mild success. This after he praised him two years prior. He could use that trick once but not twice with BE. I have no problem if people crush Noel but use some facts then. Not opinions on a career slump. |
