On first listen sitting on my couch I wasn’t super impressed but a few hours later in the gym lifting and suddenly the energy and heavy guitars are really fun. It wasn’t instant for me and I wish it was, but I can’t complain because now I like it
Also I didn’t know sail on was out I just heard it and really loved it and am happy that Noel can still make music like this id love an album of those!
God damn they’d be so good together again

I remember frank skinner talking to Noel and said something like "I find, songs are like people, If I like them instantly, Ive usually gone off them in a few months, if they grow on me over time then they tend to stick"
I feel the same way about songs like this, Im more encouraged if it doesnt grab me right away. Any song that I have loved instantly, I tend to listen to it on loop for a couple of days and never listen to it again.

Lyrics are a bit cringey
It’s ok, a bit like a watered down BRMC. A decent album filler.

I'm so NOT feeling those "aaaah's". Overall, I think that first clip promised more than was delivered.

A grower. I like The River much more than Shockwave. Some of the lyrics are not good, however.

On first listen, I'm going 7/10. Decent tune, great vocals! Thank you Liam for saving us from Disco Dad.

I think I've been too negative on this. It actually grows on you, a decent rocker.
5/10.

No word of a lie, I don’t rate the track but I catch myself singing it. Make of that what you will.

It's decent, but not great. Shockwave was a much better choice for the first single.

I woke up with this stuck in my head and I didn’t think it was that great, but maybe it is.

I woke up with this stuck in my head and I didn’t think it was that great, but maybe it is. This is exactly how I’m feeling. I can’t put my finger on it, it’s so strange. I can’t stop listening to it and it’s stuck in my head, yet I listen to it and think to myself it’s good but it’s not ‘great’ but...I love listening to it...maybe it’s cos I’m so keen for Once any other song won’t be considered as good

Decent track, 6/10 is well deserved. In the album context, maybe it gets upgraded to 7. This tune has grow on me and wasn't even needed to listen together with the album. 7 is my vote now. I love how this tune is dark, a lot of similarities with BRMC.

3/10 More of a shower than a grower 🍆 I changed it to a 4/10 but it quickly went back to 3/10. Mind you, if this is a filler track, the filler so far is way better than the last album.

This one has grown on me an awful lot. I probably prefer it to Shockwave at the minute.

Definitely a solid 8-8.5 from me now. Brilliant tune. Me too, albeit one lower at 7. Love the swampy, dirgy feel.

The whole song feels a bit off tempo to me. It's a good song, but something isn't right with it to my ears. Liam sounds stellar though!

Love it just like in the beginning. beside once his best from what we have heard so far IMO. I always wanted Liam to have a darker moody sound and back in 2011 I hoped for Beady Eye sounding like this song.

Gave this a 5/10 originally but a few weeks on I think it's a 7 or 8. Think I called it plodding or something. Grown on me a lot. Now I think the lead guitar at the end under the vocals sounds great and love the way he says 'boy' at the outro. Good tune.
