Love everything musically, lyricist needs a slap on the arse.
Might write my own for it 😊

An average album track, no more, no less: 6/10. From these two songs, it seems BRMC influence runs deep in the new album

Decent track, 6/10 is well deserved. In the album context, maybe it gets upgraded to 7.

Qualcuno sa dove posso trovare le t-shirt di Noel?

7 due to lyrics and weaker chorus. Might be a 6 even, don't know just yet. Won't dip beneath a 6 for me though.

I love Liamish plodding tunes.

8 when I had heard only the opening riff, dropped to a 7 after playing it back a couple of times. Lyrics again are dark and it sounds a bit over produced, can do without the "shout" reverb bit. Don't know how much of a grower it is. Decent "b" side.

It’s a bit cheesy, I wish it was a bit darker/moodier.

In my view, what separates this track from other Gallagher-involved "plodders" is the infusion of a particular slice of eeriness as it relates to its tonality. I am giving this one an 8. Nice one.

Currently the mean rating for The River is 7.2 (to 2sf). 🤓
In comparison:
Shockwave 7.6 Rattling Rose 6.3 Black Star Dancing 5.5 Can’t see a poll for Sail On so cant include it
The mean rating for all the above is 6.7

I'm actually enjoying this, prefer it to Shockwave, solid 8, lots of Ian Browniness about this one, even the video is a nod to Browny
8/10

I went with a 5, it might grow on me but a comedown from Shockwave and even bigger fall off from the stuff that made AYW. Might have to play it loud in my car a few more times before I submit a final vote

The mean rating for all the above is 6.7 This seems about right for the current era in Gallagher music. Mostly a bit underwhelming so far, no? Can’t help but feel that both Liam and Noel maybe should have taken a bit more time to make some really great albums. Still holding out hope though, since Once sounds proper.

If these are the results from members of an Oasis forum then surely they’d be even lower from a wider sample of people. Unless we’re super critical?

It’s better on headphones, preferably ‘open back’
