Just because they're both "90's acts" here in the States, that means they should tour together? Seems ridiculous. Very different acts. I'll believe it when I see it. It's not thaaaaat far fetched..It's not like Noel is touring with Color Me Badd or anything You're probably right that it isn't as far fetched as I make it seem, but I see the Pumpkins on more of the Metal side of the spectrum than where Noel is. Plus a band like AFI opening... Anyway, the Chicago show is the day before my honeymoon...what a way to kick it off!

They really aren’t that different. Both had huge runs in America in the mid 90s. Both had genius songwriters in the middle of an immense purple patch of artistic highs. As someone who was a teenager in the 90s and also went to high school in the 90s, they shared similar fans. Big cross over. An American Oasis fan was just as likely to own Mellon Collie as a Pumpkins fan would have Morning Glory. It’s a smart idea given the market they are targeting. I mean looking back the Black Crowes tour was a head scratcher. Outside the brothers motto totally opposites. I don’t get it. If it was Oasis. Ok. Don’t really see pumpkin fans sitting in their seats for She Taught Me How To Fly or If Love Os The Law. And of course no Florida dates. Hasn’t been to south Florida since the HC tour.

I saw the pumpkins at MSG last summer. Metric opened. You think that was a better choice? Nobody watched her either. Noel will bring his own fans to this tour just like the pumpkins. Noel sold well on his own the last few USA tour. When I saw the Black Crowes and Oasis In 2001, same venue as this tour, most of the crowd was there for Oasis. It was a weird vibe to have the headlining band have less fans than the opener.

I just hope with a 20 date Europe/Asia tour with some huge June gigs along with 16 shows in America in August it means a new album will be out sometime between now and September.

It makes sense more than you think. The last Pumpkins records is probably as pop as WBTM. Sure there's a couple of heavy tracks, but most of the record is just straight pop rock. Pumpkins fans have mellowed, grown older. She Taught Me How To Fly is a distant cousin of Silvery Sometimes. I think this is a good idea, i wish they did that tour in Europe. I just hope with a 20 date Europe/Asia tour with some huge June gigs along with 16 shows in America in August it means a new album will be out sometime between now and September. Must be, it's a pretty big tour and keeps getting bigger. Cant see Nole tour the US without a record.

What will it take to get him to get HGHFB or Liam down here? Only the Cleveland show would be a possibility for me, but it's on my daughter's birthday, and the first day of school at that. Probably can't leave SFL that day.

It’s gotta be so expensive to tour in general, let alone slog it across America which is vast. No matter where Noel plays he seems to neglect fans. It’s hard. America is a beast to conquer tour wise.

The Houston Pre-Sale site claims AFI is coming along for the ride as well.

The sound is dreadful there and it's a pain in the neck to get to see since it's in Tinley Park (not Chicago). But still, that place is massive. You can get up to 28k people in there!!!

Noel, Smashing Pumpkins, and AFI? That has got to be the weirdest fucking lineup I've seen in years.

Wow very few west coast choices.. Guess I’ll go for Mountainview, not keen on seeing Noel in a baseball stadium in LA lol. I was really hoping not to have to fly, maybe just a drive to Vancouver even but I’ll smack myself if I don’t get tickets and he has new songs, so what can you do!

Smashing Pumkins is distributed by Warner - my guess is this was a label influenced decision of “get some exposure for NGHFB”. Which means an album will be out by then.
SP is known for VERY long sets. I’m Sure NGHFB is first of 3 out of this lineup so Not sure how many people will actually see them.
I get FB posts for AFI and many of their fans in the comments are NOT happy about the lineup.

He will play for an hour I bet. Pumpkins for likely 80 min. What label are AFI on?

Don’t miss seeing a Gallagher when they tour the states, but won’t be going to this one. Not a fan of WBTM, the opener is legitimate garbage, can’t listen to Corgan’s voice anymore (was a fan for many years, but it’s like nails on a chalkboard now), but the biggest reason is it’s outdoors in Texas in August... It’s possible the temperature could be 110°F/43.5°C with high humidity.

Have a cousin 15 years younger than I am and he likes pop-punk nonsense. Utter shit, that band.

For the record... Miss Murder is a good track from AFI. Couldn't tell you single other song by them though.

Isn't Banc of California Stadium a soccer stadium, not a baseball stadium? I believe that it only holds about 20,000 or so, so it would not be as bad as it being at Dodger Stadium or where the Angels play.

When I am further back I get very cranky. Saw Noel in Las Vegas about row 12 and I was in a seriously bitchy mood about it, not gonna lie lol. I’ll have to prepare myself for a different experience this time, more like Finsbury

Having a quick Google I vaguely recognise some of AFI's stuff. Very odd pairing for Noel, they're the kind of band he'd tell to fuck off like Fred Durst back in the day.
