I wish I could find the interview where he said this but if I remember correctly, Noel said he intentionally kept LTBL stripped down.

I think this was a massive mistake.

LTBL needed 3 things:

1. Another Noel sung verse
2. Big sweeping orchestra production
3. Get rid of the unnecessary extended outro

As it stands in current form, it’s very ‘meh’ and unspectacular. You give it the production it deserves (along with another Noel sung verse) and you’ve got yourself another Oasis classic.

Sometimes Noel’s judgements can be very off. This is most certainly one of those times.

I think even the album version is too overproduced for this song and this album. The DBTT demo of it was perfect. If they'd put Liam's voice on it, that's all it would need.

They might even have played it live too, had it been done this way.

There is a part of me that still wishes Noel kept the original lyrics from the It's A Crime demo, it needed that tempo also for me.

As for my answer, I don't know really.

There was defintely SOMETHING wrong with LTBL. I was midway through high school at the time, Lyla and TIOBI had been huge, all over the radio, MTV, people were talking about them in school, everyone was enjoying Oasis that summer. When LTBL came out. Nothing. The momentum was gone.

I don't remember hearing it in public ever to be honest. Only in my headphones! The video was very drab too.

Agree something isn’t quite right with LTBT put I don’t think the production was it,

The tempo and structure is completely off and if you listen to Its A Crime it’s a far better song

The melody alone should make this an Oasis classic (or at least top 25) but as it stands I skip it
