I'm Outta Time - little more than a rehase of Little James musically to my ears. Wonderwall - just because it's so overplayed Don't Look Back In Anger - same as above Morning Glory - Fun for the first half, second half just rehases the first and adds nothing. All buid-up no substance. Album would be better without it Cigarettes & Alcohol - famous for the one line, nowhere near good enough for a single and by far and away one of the 3 worst songs on Definitely Maybe Go Let It Out - nowhere near the tune everyone makes it out to be. It's ok for sure but it just does not go anywhere. Lyrics are not exactly brilliant either Wow about Morning Glory! I don't think I've ever heard anyone say the album would be better without it. That argument could be made on BHN with the title track. C&A I think was released as a single because it worked perfectly to get across the rock star image that Noel and the management was trying communicate at the time. It's probably THE tune that captures the spirit of DM for me. Even though clearly it isn't the best song. So in that sense it is a smart single. GLIO - I agree. Massively overrated by Noel and fans.

I just get so bored by Morning Glory. Everybody raves about it, talks about it being a brilliant song when, in reality, it's the same song twice and the second time it's boring. As for Cigarettes & Alcohol, if that's the image they wanted, Bring It On Down would have worked just as well and it's a massively better song. The whole track, Cigarettes & Alcohol that is, is poorly produced and is just boring and only there for one reason..that one lyric

I like Listen Up, but it's not a great song for me like others think.
It goes on for way too long, no need to be 6 mins odd long.
And it's just a rehash all the way through, and then loops again?! Wtf. You can see why it never made the album.
The one verse and the chorus is admittedly good, but the song goes on and on saying the same thing over and over.

Rock n Roll Star, Cast No Shadow and Listen Up are also same songs twice.

I mean people slag off Hey Now, but at least that song has substance to it with 2 good verses.
Can't be said for some more "popular" Oasis songs.

Morning glory is a great live song, you can see how hyped up people get when it's played at the beginning of Liam's gig. Sets up the rest of it nicely.

I just get so bored by Morning Glory. Everybody raves about it, talks about it being a brilliant song when, in reality, it's the same song twice and the second time it's boring. This. It does the job live but to be honest I don't find it a great song to listen to on record, and as Alan McGee was once quoted as saying (in the 'My Magpies Eyes....biography IIRC) it's lucky Michael Stipe wasn't the type to sue over IMO a far superior song-

(Forget who) Probably why he never sued lol.

What's the word for ripping off yourself? Lazy? Stand By Me is Married with Children on the verses. Two words actually- Lawsuit proof

Morning Glory sounds pretty great on record tbf.
That opening, the guitar solo, the opening Liam line.
Yeah it's a rehash but I think it gets away with it cos it's such a strong verse and chorus.

It, too, is the same song twice. Noel has a real tendancy of using that structure.

Don't care if a song has two repeated verses, lyrically wise. Cast No Shadow has 3 parts (4 with the little instrumental bit actually), all excellent and fitting together. Fuckin' great song.

But I do think that's probably the reason why those 4 songs in particular aren't high on my all time favourite Oasis songs.
It's lazy really.

It's not as over-hyped about like Morning Glory but it's still not brilliant

Acquiesce is probs the most overrated amongst the fans. Only hyped up because it’s like Liam and Noel are singing to each other or whatever, but it’s boring and it drags. Deserved to be a b-side and nothing more.
