I've only ever listened to 2 Arctic Monkey's songs nearly a decade apart so I can't comment. Any suggestions for songs? Just listen to their debut album.

Old Yellow Bricks came directly after the Tranquility album finished on Spotify. NOW THIS IS MORE LIKE IT.

Good think about this album is that it will be easier to bring them to some festival in Serbia or near me.

Heathen Chemistry aside, all the rest of the Oasis albums are better than anything the Arctic Monkeys have come out with. Solid Fact.

I've only ever listened to 2 Arctic Monkey's songs nearly a decade apart so I can't comment. Any suggestions for songs? It depends on what are you looking for from them. If you like the fast garage indie sound from them check out their 2 first albums. The third one is more like stoner influences (Josh Homme produced it). The forth one is my favourite,it sounds like a poppy indie summer album. And AM is the comercial succesful one. Anyway,I've listened this one 10 times already and it gets better and better. Take your time listening to it lads,it's a good one.

So after a few more listens I must say it is growing on me, there are a few moments here and there that are just beautiful. Seems to have that Humbug quality where the songs just get better the more you hear them.
Top 5 so far i'd say -
4 out of 5 TBHC She Looks Like Fun Batphone One Point Perspective
Special mention to American Sports too, that's the one the has grown on me the most. As a collection of songs they may be a bit too slow overall, but in the context of their back catalog as a whole (which was already brilliant) they add a bit more variety to the mix.

Arctic Monkeys always struggled with doing slow songs dating right back to their first album. Wow, really? Riot Van, Only Ones Who Know, Cornerstone, Despair in the Departure Lounge... I wouldn't call it struggle. Some of their best material are slower songs.

I think Star Treatment drags on a bit. Could do with being shorter.
Four out of Five, Science Fiction and the title track are my favourites at the moment.

Science Fiction is great. Think it's clever the way he ends each verse with "some Science Fiction does." Love it when songwriters are concise and tidy like that, and I can't remember Turner going in for that kind of thing before.

I might be the only person who absolutely loves this album.
The songs are patient, detailed, and subtle. Turner is still one of the best lyricists out there, and it's just a complete change in direction.
After the massive success of AM, it's astounding that they released this. It's sort of their Radiohead moment, when it's clear that they're making music for themselves and not for the charts.
And ultimately, the album is a collage of narrative driven and stream of consciousness, with a tacit and quiet confidence to match. This, in turn with an instrumentation that reveals more of the secrets that it's hiding between the notes makes it into a brilliant piece of art.

I didn't like it at first. Now I really do. It's a weird grower, for me. I hated Humbug at first, but now it's up there for me. The first half of the album is a triumph. Second half drags a bit, but it's great, overall.

I think exactly the opposite haha. The title track reminds me of 'One' by U2 when Turner's vocals kick in. I'm glad they've done something different. They were never living up to AM. That's a once or twice in a lifetime record (like their debut in fairness, or Oasis' first two albums) so I'm glad he's gone completely out there - even if just to get it out of his system. Ultimately though it doesn't have the songs to have any longevity, though. You must be kidding. AM was shocking - filler galore. AM was a very good album. Perhaps masterpiece was a bit much but it's an excellent piece of work. Carried by the singles clearly, but only as much as any other big album is.
