4:55 is the duration of Pretty Boy. It's amazing how we can get so excited just with track title and its lenght. There's gotta be a nice break or solo in there for it to be that long.

according to Noel's latest interviews, Pretty boy is in the style of David Bowie ... Which interview did he say that? This is quote from NME and such we got in 2020: “I’ve written a tune that sounds very much like The Cure, and I didn’t even have to dial back the copyright, it just sounds like The Cure. It’s called 'Pretty Boy.'”

It's been like that every time they post it, I think it's just an assumption on their part as it's known he's been making a record They also have Radiohead listed. They are probably 2-3 years away from another album at best. Thom and Jonny currently touring The Smile. Phil about to drop a solo album and Ed is finishing up LP2.

The source for this is the Daily Star though, so best taken with a healthy dose of salt. I don’t watch I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. How did Liam do on it? X

- Album announcement in November. - First single released April 2023. - Album released February 2024. - The album has 8 songs, and is 34 minutes long. - 3 7-minute instrumentals, Ysee sings 2, Noel sings 3 (one of them is a re-recording of It's better people with slower tempo and Jeremy Stacey on drums). - Only festivals tour, with the EP and Who Built the Moon songs plus Dream on returning as the backbone of the setlist. - Gas Panic, Let's all make believe, Where did it all go wrong, Carry us all, Stand by me, All around the world, Live forever, Rockin chair, Falling down, The turning, Bring it on down, Hello, Underneath the sky, Stay young, My sister lover, Roll with it, and I hope I think I know are soundchecked and setlisted but finally not played because "We didn't quite get them right". - Noel tries to appear as guest to Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and the Rolling Stones in the Reading festival but all of them refuse due to his bad relationship with Dave Grohl. He ends sharing stage with Russel Brand and Neil Farage. - 14 year hiatus after the album cycle. But hey, new EP coming 2026 called "Magic Whisper", featuring The Right Stuff remix only, it's the most far out thing he's ever done, up there with David Bowie. The artwork is very psychedelic as well.

X I sure hope that Liam won't be involved with that shit but it was in The Daily Star. I don't watch it either and never have or any other reality game show come to that.

so what do we know abt the making of the record? noel produced, recorded at lone star? He recorded 4 songs at Brendan Lynch’s Lynch Mob studio in Jul/Aug 2020, while he was waiting for his own studio to be finished. Unknown what songs they are, but two probably went on the best of. Since then he’s been writing and recording in his own studio in Tileyard King’s Cross. I don’t know if he’s used any other studios since he got his own, but if the album has orchestras, strings and choirs I assume he used other studios to record those. X

Some other decent artists have studios in the same complex as Noel: The Prodigy, Sub Focus, Mark Ronson. Hopefully he bumps into them and gets some decent remixes. X

X In the latest edition of Mojo (Arctic Monkeys on the cover) there's a review of a new book by David Hepworth about Abbey Road Studios and it refers to Noel recording strings there this spring. Also, don't think it's mentioned elsewhere on this thread (at least not in the all-encompassing first post), in the Record Collector cover article last year Noel mentioned the track 'Easy Now' as 'like a better version of Little By Little'.
