Weren't there supposed to be a few official remixes of Holy Mountain? Been a couple of weeks now since the single was first heard and I haven't spotted any. I don't think so. Bedsides the instrumental. There's Andrew Weatherall and Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve remixes for It's a Beautiful World, though, and I'm hyped for those Richard Norris of Beyond The Wizards Sleeve hasn’t confirmed the track he has remixed as yet although Graham Park is confirmed by Noel as having reworked It’s a Beautiful World in a hacienda style which he wants to release as a vinyl alongside the Andrew Weatherall mix.

Is the instrumental floating about yet? Not as yet. Probably need to wait for the vinyl for the instrumental.

If there is any "fanboy-ism" going on, then I'm a Noel fanboy, I actually love "These Swollen Hand Blues", and "Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks" is one of my favourite post-Oasis tunes. I don't mind listening to "Oh Lord!". "She must be One of Us" is also a nice sonic experience to me. However, it doesn't that I have to like everything that Noel produces. "Holy Mountain" is just not a good song in my opinion. And for sure it's not a great lead single. I gave it a spin a couple of times and that's it. I don't feel any need/urge to come back to it. I still have high hopes for the album, though. But, you know, even the greatest artists can fail when they attempt something "new". Macca with his Wings disco-period, Bowie with the abomination called "Tonight" or Lou Reed with the atrocious "New Sensations". In what way did Macca fail? Silly Love Songs for instance, (I take it you're talking about that one, among others perhaps) was a big hit and got pretty good reviews. I agree with you, my bad. SLS was a successful single. I remembered it wrongly, because the album was heavily bashed by the press and the fans.

In fairness, Noel has shot down any suggestions at all this was progressive or experimental. Are you sure he said so? Just asking because of "Fort Knox".

They should fucking re-upload HM on Youtube. I just listened to Fort Knox and then HM came on autoplay after FK and it's so quite.

It's simply a case of the audio accidentally being turned down in the movie project. Have done the same thing myself on one of my videos... but of course I just deleted it from YouTube and re-uploaded. Noel's management probably didn't dare do that in fear of wiping out the views the video had already received once they realised the mistake...xD

I know most folks prefer Noel's little dance moves, but this is pretty awesome.

I like how that video says "Now with the Chief firmly footed with dance music, he needs a video with flawless choreography", and literally NOTHING about it is in time with anything in the song.

On BBC Radio stations, the a-list denotes those songs that are played the most. The lowest is the c-list. 6 Music is a very eclectic station that promotes a lot of excellent modern acts but also heavily emphasises classic artists. Quite fitting then that Noel's new song has made their playlist. I've listened to 6 Music for as long as Noel's gone solo and they've never a-listed any of his songs before.

What’s the best Brit program to get listed on? In terms of actual quality content on stations - far and away 6 Music. That's for big music fans, aside from classical, it covers almost every genre. Probably an alternative rock/indie bias but what you do get is the best modern acts along with obscure tracks from bigger acts. While stations like Radio X only play the same three songs from all Britpop acts, 6 Music will often throw something out like Sad Song for example. Radio 2 does list a lot of great acts (Noel and Liam appear frequently) but also slap bang boring MOR nonsense. Radio 1 caters for the kids with it's playlist, but obviously acts over 40 years old don't make it. Radio 3 - purely classical music, Radio 4 is a variety of spoken word programmes, while Radio 5 covers sport and current affairs.

What’s the best Brit program to get listed on? For Liam and Noel, if they want to sell a decent number of records then it needs to be Radio 2. They A-listed Noel's songs and he sold well - especially the first album on the back of What a Life. Beady Eye didn't get playlisted at all (as far as I'm aware) on Radio 2 and that meant they didn't get mainstream exposure. Liam got A-listed with Wall of Glass and FWIW and it helped him get to number one and sell 100,000 in the first week.

So I come home sad and angry tonight, and somehow my hand hits play on the computer and Holy Mountain suddenly starts playing...wow, did this song just lift me up and make me smile. I didn't really like this song for the last couple weeks and then all of a sudden...BOOM! Now I love it.
Love the moment when a song first makes that emotional connection. Sometimes it takes a while I guess.
