This is the best thing Mick Jagger ever did besides Gimme Shelter and Exile.

I'm sure I heard this on Match of the Day... Think i heard it for the segment advertising MOTD2. They use any Liam or Noel related songs on football shows these days. Great exposure.

If there is any "fanboy-ism" going on, then I'm a Noel fanboy, I actually love "These Swollen Hand Blues", and "Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks" is one of my favourite post-Oasis tunes. I don't mind listening to "Oh Lord!". "She must be One of Us" is also a nice sonic experience to me. However, it doesn't that I have to like everything that Noel produces. "Holy Mountain" is just not a good song in my opinion. And for sure it's not a great lead single. I gave it a spin a couple of times and that's it. I don't feel any need/urge to come back to it. I still have high hopes for the album, though.
But, you know, even the greatest artists can fail when they attempt something "new". Macca with his Wings disco-period, Bowie with the abomination called "Tonight" or Lou Reed with the atrocious "New Sensations".

NGFHB first singles are never bangers or biggest hits on the record, not even most commercial. It's still an on going trend in Noel's solo career. I remember him saying that If I Had A Gun was meant to be the first single off his debut and be this here i am kind of comeback tunes, but he changed his mind in the last minute for Death Of You And Me which isn't like that at all, same with In The Heat Of The Moment, it's not the strongest song on the album at all. So chill...

I think Arcade Fire's Everything Now is one of the best songs released this year and it didn't even do that well in the charts, apparently. This is by far the best song of the year so far. There tour didn't do too hot either, tickets going down to $20 and upper bowls being closed out completely. They couldn't even sell out half the arena when I went to see them.

Silly Love Songs for instance, (I take it you're talking about that one, among others perhaps) was a big hit and got pretty good reviews.

Liam and all the fat cats in his Pretty Green. Gotta say I love the bickering. Yes would be nice to see them make amends, but its also entertaining and has likely drawn in the fans who had no idea who they were before. I personally think its all in good fun anyways.

Liam/Pretty Green and his team of songwriters are all pretty cynical fat cats.

Parka Monkeys... He's getting there. I like it better than this eagle vs pigeon thing, still some work to do though. It's kind of like with Liam's songwriting !

If HM had been written/released in the 90's with Liam on vocals, it would have been the "party" song at every concert. No doubt. Think about it.

Is he referring to this meme and liam?? Pure gold!!! I was insulted when Noel referred to us as Parka wearing monkeys, but to be fair i looked exactly like that monkey when i heard Holy Mountain for the first time

NG's tweet is quite amusing. It's all banter of course, and meant in jest, but I'm actually quite pleased it has wound up some of the mob on here who don't like HM, and are getting deeply offended....

How did She Bangs do in Sao Paulo? Sorry, he didn't cover Ricky Martin. You may be on the wrong forum. This might be the one you're looking for: www.parka-monkeys.com
