Liam didn’t even do wonderwall when I went to see him, so that’s why I’d rather Noel do it the original way because it’ll be the first time I’ll see/hear the song being sung live. I’m sure it’ll go down well anyway. I agree with HTWA, nice enough song, but I think LBL fills the role of “big singalong” quite well, so he could easily do something else. Ah, that's fair enough. Yeh, he played it at Leeds Fest last year and then again when I saw him in Amsterdam in March. First time I'd seen DYKWIM, BHN was at Leeds Fest, and then first time seeing Cigs and Alcohol and (electric) Supersonic (though I saw Noel's version in 2012 and do really like that version as well) was in Amsterdam. I’m pretty sure he’s played it every gig, but decided to drop it for Newcastle, then put it back it again lol. I mean I’m not that arsed about WW, but it’d still be cool to hear the man himself sing it, and I’m sure he will at Old Trafford in the summer so it’s all good. DYKWIM seemed great at Leeds fest, whole atmosphere seemed mega.

Nice to listen to the interview with his drummer who said it was one of their best gigs

In the train on my way back from the gig in Amsterdam. Fucking hooligans. Blossoms were alright, way too loud though. A man behind me said "This probably is good music, but it's too loud to hear it." Then Noel came on of course. Loved Fort Knox live and Holy Mountain is so much fun live! Noel sounded like he was struggling a bit at the start of the gig, especially with Keep On Reaching. What surprised me, is how enthusiastic people responded to Riverman, which was a major mood kill during the last two gigs. I really enjoyed Little By Little and The Importance Of Being Idle, but Wonderwall and Half The World Away can fuck off. I still don't like Be Careful What You Wish For. If Love Is The Law and Go Let It Out both sounded great and strong. The first one had the harmonica solo replaced by a piece by the brass section, which I loved. Still no Falling Down though, which is a shame. I don't know if he did it at the end, because I left halfway through the first chorus of Don't Look Back in Anger (boohoo, bad fan!), but I highly doubt it. I don't care for the acoustic version and I definitely don't care for a Beatles cover (and I also had to get the train, because HOOLIGANS!) At first Noel kept quiet. The only thing he said after a couple of songs was "shut up". Later he started chatting and joking more. He also flipped the bird at someone in the audience All in all it was pretty good. The women really add something and it was great to see Gem! Couldn't top previous gig for me though, and I think this was the last Noel gig I'll attend.

Totally agree with the last comment. Tonight was my first time to see Noel’s new line-up, I think Gem is an awesome addition to the band. Since I’m not really into Noel stuff lately, tonight was for me the first time to hear songs from his new album. I think it sounds good live, also had the feeling Falling Down would fit in seemlessly. It wasn’t played after DLBIA I enjoyed the gig, though I think the songs are a bit too psychedelic.

Never felt so under enthused in the build up to a Noel show ever. I'm sure when it comes round on Tuesday it'll be great but the album cycle the setlist etc is so Meh . Really hope he throws in a surprise but doubt it !

Went to the Amsterdam gig. It was excellent. The new band really brings in something new. Noel was quite quiet until half show. Loved to hear LITL, and all WBTM songs were great. Wonderwall fell a little flat imo, but DITW was amazing. All in all, a great night. And, according to locals, it was the hottest April day in Amsterdam in history. What else could I ask for ?

I think this was the last Noel gig I'll attend. Why is that? I've seen him 3 times and I think that's enough. A bit excessive even (and then there are people who've seen him 16 times). Might change my mind when he returns next tour though.

Just got home after being away for a couple of days. It was my 5th Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds gig. The gig was good. Very different atomosphere and very different audiences. It was a good show, nothing more, nothing less. Some songs from his new album sounded good, some not. The Right Stuff was good live and a big sing along for Littel By Little which surprised me. I kinda had enough of TIOBI, Little by Little, Half The World Away and especially Wonderwall. I've been listening to TIOBI and Wonderwall live since 2005 and Little By Little and Half The World Away since 2011. I think Noel feels confident to sing those songs, but those who attended his gig multiple times, could be easily bored. I wasn't keen on Go Let It Out. Noel's voice isn't strong enough to sing this song. Having Gem Archer next to him brought a big big change for the band. I've seen Gem and Chris playing with Noel when they supported U2 last year and the guitar solo from Little By Little had a wall of Oasis sound. The best moment of the gig was him playing Dead In The Water acoustic. It was truly beautiful. and the best of the gig was that I got no beer shower. It was pleasure to meet Gem and Chris outside and pleasure? to meet Noel for the second time. Gem and Chris were very nice. Met Bonehead last month too, so that means I met 6 of Oasis (Liam, Noel x 2, Bonehead, Gem, Chris and Andy) so far. I got on my vinyl of Who Built The Moon? signed. I've met so many musicians, but Noel Gallagher is the grumpiest musician I ever met. It won't hurt you to chat with your fans Noel, will you? Anyway, I've seen both Gallaghers this year and seeing the youngest one in November again and I'm ready for it. Yes, it was the hottest April last Thursday (28 degree).

I know a couple of people who've sold their tickets for the UK tour because they're not into Noel any more. I feel sort of the same way. I'm not really looking forward to seeing him at Tramlines but I figure it's worth travelling less than 3 miles for. He's always played a few songs I wasn't really into but I'd get rid of half his current set. I really hope he thinks about how things like Be Careful What You Wish For and The Right Stuff are going to go over with festival audiences and comes up with something else.

I get it with festivals, but people on here are always clamouring for him to play different stuff. On this tour he's done - A cover of a song he's done twice in his career before - A psychedelic instrumental song - A semi-instrumental psychedelic song that he had never played before - An Oasis song that hadn't played in 15 years So, just off the top of my head, that is a few examples of 'new stuff' he's done. But, for whatever reason, people haven't universally liked them so it's easier just to say he hasn't done anything new. I want him to throw a few different songs in instead of maybe HTWA or WW, but like you say in your post he has to be aware of how it goes across with each audience.

Well, yeah, but they're mostly shit. He wants to be something different to what his fanbase love (loved?) him for. He's entitled to that, but he shouldn't be surprised when people walk away.

A Simple Game Of Genius would be great to hear getting an outing. What a great song that is and would come across as great with any audience I'm sure. Enough of the soundchecks! That and/or Falling Down for Glasgow please Noel!

The Right Stuff from what I've seen so far is more or less the best thing in the set, if you do something different, do it well. He has.
