But that's just it. You don't need radio anymore. That is not the biggest delivery medium anymore. There aren't even real rock stations in NYC for example. It's all about the Internet, Spotify, iTunes, YouTube, etc. fuck the radio. Problem is that Noel still cares about radio, and this song is most likely going to be debuted on radio. I'd be surprised if it dropped any other way. I know I know. I’m just trying to talk myself into this. Maybe he’s in LA doing tons of taped interview or live ones tomorrow. Maybe he’s with Zane Lowe right now. Just makes too much damn sense to drop it tomorrow. World tour goes on sale tomorrow. Might as well push it hard with new material. Pre sale was for the diehards. Plus can’t do it next week because of Liam and then you are getting deeper into October basically a month out from the album. That’s too late for a guy like Noel.

The marketing and promotion behind Liam's comeback has been genius. Everything has been judged perfectly. Is Marcus Russell still Noels manager ?

Noel could take some lessons from Liam and Debbie on how to promote a new album in this day and age. They're killing it. This keeps getting brought up for months now. He’s literally doing all the same things he did with Beady Eye and before that with Oasis. Same as all the other acts out there. Nothing is different. All very standard promotion and that is fine. Sometimes the audience cares and sometimes they don’t. I think people care more because it’s LIAM and not LAG. There is a power in that brand. That's my basis for the opinion that LG and Debbie are "killing it" on the promotion front. They've managed to turn Liam Gallagher, As You Were, and LGx into a brand. It's resulted in sold out arenas and slobbering media praise for his return. Personally, I don't think the songs from LG's solo effort are good enough to sell out arena's, so his ability to build up this level of interest has impressed me a lot. And I think it's how him and his team have created this narrative that paints him as the last great rock n' roll figure, the one who never sold out, a guy who always keeps it real (even when "real" goes really dumb). I hate to make this comparison, but he's using the same tactics that Trump does. Unapologetic, unfiltered, shit talking. And that is more important to selling a product than the substance behind it. The Manchester gig, the Vogue concert, the many entertaining pre-gig interviews, the Air Studios thing, the giant LGx banner that was just raised, and most of all his Twitter, all of it makes me think they're doing any excellent job building a brand. Edit: I should also be more forthright about my cynicism. I don't think the quality of the music matters that much in this situation, which means I don't think how they stagger their singles releases matters all that much. It's about being so charismatic that you build a support base who will defend you and support anything you put out. Smart.

It would make absolute sense to release it to coincide with the world tour sale, which to anyone sane is just the obvious thing to do. But, who knows? Given the Taylor Swift's rude arrival on his territory, I'd have thought he'd want to get pre-sales up as much as possible, which really needs getting a song out there. Having done the announcement on Monday they really want to keep the buzz about, one single now, another just before the album, perfect. Otherwise he just loses any momentum he just gained. Otherwise, I agree it may well not be until late October when he's back. Which would frankly, be an insanely bad strategy,

Whenever the first single is released, I doubt it'll be a midnight release. It'll be a radio play during the day or evening, and immediate release after or something. There's been no build up or anything about the song yet, maybe an announcement in the morning to listen to a radio station to hear it or something.

Granted he is in the US along with me so probably not.

Are they waiting for Monday? Won’t be Monday. Charts start Friday. And Noel cares.

VERY strange it hasn't been dropped yet... we're less than two months out from the release date. Just odd.

I apologize now guys if this doesn’t come out tomorrow. I hyped it up too much all week and day. Just seemed like perfect timing but now the doubt is creeping in. Being Noel I figured some sort of tease would meet us today. Still holding out hope.

Noels Spotify image has been updated. When did that happen? Are we close? I noticed it earlier today. Someone else pointed out it was changed on Monday. Either way good sign.

In Julia we trust! Who is Julia??? You guys don’t strike me as trolls at all so I tend to believe in this news. Releasing it on a Wednesday is bizarre and way too close to Liam’s album 2 days later. Might as well strike tomorrow.
