Looking back at some recent gig videos it seems like Liam has a monitor showing lyrics, a bit Like a newsreader or TV presenter has. A close up from the side of the stage shows the monitor saying "end" after the final song, Live Forever. It seems he looks down at it between each line of a song. I'm sure he did this with Beady Eye too and he has always admitted he struggles with remembering lyrics. Has anyone else noticed this?

Noel does too. I've seen it .. it's hidden like a monitor.. most performers use it .. not uncommon specially for new songs.

I think a lot of singers use monitors, helps them in case they have a memory lapse. In the past Liam didn't have one & sometimes got confused with the lyrics of some songs.
If Liam had had a monitor from day one, he probably would've sung the second verse of "Acquiesce".

Not a fan of this monitor malarkey either.

I've seen quite some bands having a lyrics sheet on monitor or next to their set list on stage, especially when they play a new song(s), so it's quite common.
I got a Richard Ashcroft's "Beatitudes" lyrics sheet (a huge one!) after his and The United Nations gig in Melkweg in 2010. Weller had a lyrics sheet of his new song called "What Would He Say" next to the set list on stage when I saw him 2 weeks ago.

Trust me, when you get into your 40s you need to have things to jog your memory

The word midget got the sack, then? How did it take this far in the thread for someone to mention the word midget? That's such a great interview and that's such a great bit: "He never sings it live, ever" "Do you always forget it or..." "I've never heard it before, what words are them? What you wrote another verse?" "There's another verse that you just refuse to sing." "Don't refuse man, I've never heard it." "What is it about it you don't like Liam?" "It's not that I don't like it, I've never heard it. Where are them? The geezer who puts the words in front of me has obviously fucked it off. I just sing what I read man." "The geezer who puts the words in front of me?!?! The little word midget."

I know embarrassing really when you think how much he's being paid. It's not like he's been stuck working a day job all week and hadn't had time to learn the lyrics before his Saturday night cover band gig in a pub.

Pretty much every performer these days has one, I don't mind, especially when they have a big catalog. Helps prevent slip ups.

Second verse of Greedy Soul. During singing new songs he definitely looked down so there's no doubt...

It's not a big deal it's pretty much standard now. What does make me happy is he don't wear the ear monitors anymore. When he was in oasis as soon as he started wearing them he started sounding way worse. I think they were messing him up and trying to sing in a way that sounded good to him but was just messing him up

I think looking at the screen is some kind of a reflex for him now. I mean, there's no way he has to look down between every "lay it on me" line
