I think this release of WAG proves it's actually very little to do with the quality of the song (as much as i like it), more the exposure to the name and song you are promoting that gives you that "hit". It is extremely admirable the way Beady Eye did things. Like i said, probably everything was done the wrong way to get exposure. I still think DGSS is underrated and actually some of the album tracks are great little songs. Some lows, but not the disaster its made out by a long long way. Songs like Beatles & Stones, For Anyone, Kill for A Dream, Standing On The Edge of Noize and The Beat Goes On have no business being on that album. Very weak. There's nowt wrong with Beatles And Stones, as far as I can tell. It's a nice bit of filler. Love Sharrock's drumming and the bit of boogie-woogie piano that comes in for the third verse.

I listen to enough music, certainly enough Alternate/Indie to know if DGSS came along now as a new band then there is more than enough to get me interested. I am happy if anyone from the genre comes along with 2 or 3 good songs. Beady Eye had The Roller, Four Letter Word, Millionaire, Morning Son and In the Bubble with a Bullet by the end of the first album cycle. They were good songs that would have got me in to any band. Liam just went at it and wore his heart on his sleeve as usual. He isnt in the same stratosphere as Noel when it comes to playing the market and selling your album. If he was then there are a few things you could do with DGSS to make it sell better than it did. I have always been reluctant to call it a failure because it still sold figures that most British bands i love would kill for.
