Please Gem leave Noel and join Liam's band again. Your guitar work is highly missed. Not really interested in seeing any Oasis/Beady Eye members with Liam. I think it's good for Liam to not play with any of them. That said, the guitarists are both awful. I'm sure they could have found far better guys than those 2. The drummer is good, he has done a lot of session work and you basically don't get those jobs unless you're shit hot. The problem is though that he is the kind of drummer that has probably gone to music school and people who do that often don't fit right into a certain type of bands. I was playing in a band with some music school students, they were technically as good as you will find anywhere but there was just no vibe there at all, it was all a bit too methodical. The sound i had playing with my mates who grew up with me playing in rehearsal rooms and gigs was far better, even if they weren't as technically brilliant as the music school types. The drummer in Liam's band just screams music student to me, but maybe i'm wrong....i don't think i am. He's probably a hell of a studio drummer though.

Your spot on, from reading about his background he went to music school in leeds. He has worked with olly muirs and Tom odell as a songwriter and producer before becoming involved with liam. His value to Liam's project greatly exceeds his performance as a drummer in his live band. He was clearly the multi instrumentalist that liam refers to in Q last year who helped him develop his demos. I doubt that this time last year it was even on his radar to be a full time drummer in a rock band. I wonder how is relationship with liam came about? Maybe a label recommendation?

Please Gem leave Noel and join Liam's band again. Respectfully, can't agree with this. I'm so pleased Liam's had a clean slate with the occasional cameo from the legend Bonehead.

I understand he had to part ways with former Beady Eye members in order to have a fresh start to the public eye, but technically the new guitarists are way worse than Gem, who is a top guitarist. I miss him to be honest.

Works both ways, many groups are badass live but when thrown in the studio dubbing their parts onto the record and doing so in isolation booths etc it can throw a live band for a loop when all of a sudden they are feeling so exposed. Whatever the drummer's background may be, he is not great live that much is certain. I haven't heard one live show without a major screw-up on the drums. No such thing as a "perfect show" but the mistakes he's making are very amateur. Truthfully, it probably came down to money. With this being Liam's first solo outing and first solo record deal with Warner most of the cash was spent on the recording, and promo. Which leaves picking up highly regarded live players with decades of experience far from being the record labels priority (financially). Plus, part of the "branding" of is making sure the band has a young rock star image (point being, younger = less experience obviously).

No danger of me taking you seriously, you never heard of sarcasm? I happen to like the lad and seen this video from six years ago and thought it was Interesting considering what he's doing now. There's a difference between light hearted sarcasm and biting. One makes you funny. The other makes you sound like a dick. You decide which camp you fall under Haha, well I am a sarcastic bastard by nature and you wouldn't be the first to think I'm a bit of a dick, rest assured it's not a matter that I'll lose sleep over. Still if you think that was biting then i apologise and I'll be more careful in future. 😇😗
