Steve Basham '5'
Lincoln City 0-1 Oxford Utd Oxford got off to the perfect start with a victory over 10-man Lincoln at Sincil Bank. The visitors took the lead early when Scott McNiven found unmarked Steve Basham, who slotted the ball home.
Lincoln then found their task even more difficult when striker Simon Yeo, who had been booked for a 12th minute tussle with Jon Ashton, was sent off on the half-hour mark when he needlessly kicked the ball away.
The visitors should have doubled their lead in the second half when Julian Alsop found Derek Townsley, who somehow missed the gaping goal from eight yards.
Although Lincoln fought hard for an equaliser they could not find a way through.
Lincoln City: Marriott, Weaver, Morgan, Futcher, Mayo, Gain, Butcher, Liburd, Bloomer, Yeo, May. Subs: Sedgemore, Pearce, Wattley, Remy, McNamara.
Oxford Utd: Woodman, McNiven, Townsley, Crosby, Robinson, Bound, Wanless, Brown, Aston, Basham, Alsop. Subs: Hackett, Rawle, Whitehead, Lovegrove, Oldfield.

Macc only managed a nil all draw at home to Boston
Poor home form last season had us in a relegation battle till near the end of season. Lets hope that doesn't happen again.

Yea Macc went down to the blades, a peno with 3 mins left. Had training so didn't get to see the match but read Macclesfield were by far the better team in the first half and were unlucky to loose.
Got hammered on the weekend tho, 3-1 to Cambridge. At least Carruthers got his 1st of the season, nice header. Danny Adams poor backpass let in Cambridge to go 2-1 up and it was over from there.
