Adu stars in U.S. 2-1 victory MANCHESTER, England (AP) -- Soccer prodigy Freddy Adu scored the tying goal and set up the winner Thursday, leading the U.S. under-17 team to a 2-1 victory over its counterparts from Manchester United. Adu, a 14-year-old Ghanaian-born player projected to become one of soccer's biggest names, made it 1-1 on a pass from Chris Germani five minutes before halftime. He then floated a corner kick for Jamie Watson in the 50th minute. Manchester United opened the scoring on a goal by Marcus Neumayer in the 10th minute. The American team is preparing for the world under-17 championship in Finland on Aug. 13-30.

( the mini pele ) quite a reputation to live up to! never heard of him to be honest but obviously he's one to look out for in the future. i'm always wary of these so called schoolboy wonders who are 'the next maradona' or pele. a lot of them tend to fade away and not live up to their early promise
