1. I realized that The title is not on the cover sleeve. I am so dumb.
2. The lyrics for D'you know what I mean goes, "All my people right here right now/THEY know what I mean?" I thought it was "All my people right here right now/D'you know what I mean?".
3. At the end of It's Getting Better (Man!) you can hear the strings in All Around the World Reprise.
4. I like all the songs except for Magic Pie and It's Getting Better (Man!).
Add yours if you have any

I haven't listened to be here now closely for years. A few observations:
Fade in out: johnny Depp's slide guitar part sounds great.
All around the world (mustique) has the children's toy keyboard at the end which was used on the track be here now.
Dirty shirt: always loved the Wurlitzer or rhoads piano part at the end of the track.
Liam's vocals are spot on throughout the album.
Amazing how much of the mustique demos actually ended up in the final version of be here now for instance depps slide guitar, plane noise On DYKWIM, children's keyboard on be here now.

That's probably because All Around The World was recorded before Be Here Now in these sessions. At least that is my guess.

I laughed when the children's keyboard started playing. I actually think The Girl in the Dirty Shirt is slightly better than the original, but I would still like to have Liam on lead and Noel on backing vocals.

I wonder if we'll ever find out what children's keyboard made that noise, for curiosity's sake!

I guess you could go with the Olympic diving model and throw out the high and the low and then take the average.

I would have still liked to have shortened 'It's Getting Better (Man!!)', stuck on a pulsing Northern Soul bass line and backed that with similar style horns to replace most of the lead guitars- a true 'Wigan Casino' recording!

When was Oasis famous for having good instrumentation? I mean it is brilliant, but to me the melody is far more important.

When was Oasis famous for having good instrumentation? I mean it is brilliant, but to me the melody is far more important. I didn't say they were famous for it- that's why I said I would have liked to have done it with different instrumentation which would still have retained the melody. I agree it is a strong melody but good instrumentation and a good melody don't need to be mutually exclusive

Favourite tracks: 1.DYKWIM 2.Fade In/Out 3.Don't Go Away
I don't ever see much love for 'Fade In/Out' on here, but it's definitely one of my favourite ever Oasis songs, and sounds absolutely mental live.

D'you Know What I Mean?- second bridge alternate lyrics "can't fight through the storm". Obvious in the Mustique demo. But relistening to the original it's there as well.
Also from D'you Know What I Mean? If you listen closely to the Mustique demo before the acoustic guitar kicks in, you can here in the background the drum intro used on the Heathen Chemistry tour.

One thing I noticed is how all the tracks on the Mustique demo cross-fade into each other perfectly except 'AATW' and 'IGBM'. Makes me think that they really should have put 'Trip Inside' in between AATW and IGBM for the Mustique demos - although clearly, they aren't listed in the exact order they were recorded (well I doubt it anyway).

And the fact that the Be Here Now piano starts after AATW

On booklet it says:
Disc 1 - Be Here Now
9. Be Here Now (5:12) "In Mustique Johnny Depp and Kate Moss stayed at Mick Jagger's house. We were down on the beach and there was this toy plastic piano that belonged to one of Jagger's kids. The opening's played on that, slowed down. I was pressing that one key for about two hours...Anyway, I nicked it - me from Burnage. I can't help it. Mick can have it back if he wants" - Noel Gallager, 1997

That's not a very mimmihopps thing to say. Also disappointed to read this as I was looking forward to the booklet when my copy arrives on Friday.

With the advent of the digital music revolution, management teams have started giving ZERO attention to the booklets because they no longer see the value in pandering to the small group of people who might still take a look at them. It's sad, but true. They assume people will search out all info online.
