England captain David Beckham is to make a televised appeal to fans of the national team, asking them to behave at future matches. The move comes after the Football Association was fined and given a stern warning about the future conduct of supporters following England's 2-0 win over Turkey at the Stadium of Light in April. Beckham's message will be broadcast on BBC1, ITV1 and Sky in the build up to the friendly with Serbia-Montenegro at the Walkers Stadium on Tuesday. FA spokesman Adrian Bevington explained to the Daily Mail: "David regards this as hugely important and his message is directed at England fans everywhere. "He knows the gravity of this situation. "We, as a country, have had a very serious warning about our future conduct and no self-respecting fan wants the team playing behind closed doors or even being thrown out of a tournament." /me www.nationwide.co.uk/football/common/divstory.asp?T_ID=engmen&ID=55406&W=0#

Isnt that rubbish , though ? I dont see what harm fans going on the pitch on very rare occasions does - it only happens when its a massive game anyway.
Anyone ever invaded the pitch , I have when Everton #cringe# drew with Coventry to stay up
