Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says the 6-1 thumping of Southampton only served to heighten the disappointment of losing to Leeds United at the weekend. The 3-2 home reverse left the Gunners unable to catch Manchester United and retain the title, leaving Wenger to reflect on a missed opportunity. He said: "This gave the players some regrets as they feel that, had they won the game against Leeds, we would be champions on Sunday night. "We have done a lot for our goal difference and I'm convinced that had we beaten Leeds, we would have won the championship. "This was a little illustration of our season. The team were very creative, very positive and played some fantastic football. "But we also lacked a bit of security defensively and that's what we want to improve next season." www.nationwide.co.uk/football/common/divstory.asp?T_ID=faprem&ID=54332&W=0thank you leeds!!!!
