Leeds United captain Dominic Matteo is set to have another operation on his troublesome knee injury at the end of the season. The former Scottish international has been plagued by knee problems throughout the season but has now confirmed that he will have a second operation on the injury. The former Liverpool star almost missed out on Tuesday's crucial 2-0 win against Fulham but Matteo was determined to play his part in the club's fight against relegation. "My knees aren't too good but I knew how important the game was for the club on Tuesday and there was no way I was going to miss it," he told the club's official website. "The lads were all saying 'come on' and that's great, but if I'm being honest I could hardly walk on Saturday after the game. "I've already had an exploratory op and had it cleaned out, but it's still affecting me and it needs sorting." www.nationwide.co.uk/football/common/TeamNews.asp?TeamID=161&ID=53528&W=0
