I made an earlier thread about it but I'm a big fan of the tracks that have pronounced female backing vocals. In fact, I love the 'Right Stuff' and wish there wasn't that section where Noel sings on his own. The female backing vocals work well with him. I want the next album to use even more. Even though I love 'Lock All the Doors' (my second fave on CY behind The Right Stuff), I really want to see Noel move away as much as possible from trying to recapture early oasis. In fact, I think adding female vocalists to the tour would really show he's moved on.
My three questions:
1. Do you want more usage of female vocalists?
2. Would you want to see female backing vocals on tour?
3. For those familiar with David Holmes who is producing the next album. Do you think he would be inclined to want to incorporate female vocals on Noel's next album?

While I do like the female vocal on The Right Stuff, at times I think it's a bit much. Sometimes it is difficult to distinguish Noel's voice from her's, and it appears Noel is the back-up singer on his own song. It's fine in this scenario, but I don't think I'd want it much more than that. If she's going to be a back-up singer, then mix wise, she should sound like a back-up singer.

Agree with Spaneli. Nothing more to add, actually.

Female backing vox were pretty good on Let the Lord.. otherwise i'm not too fond of it.
Like most of the new stuff Noel tries to do lately, it's kinda cliché.

The female vocals are just overdone. Especially when he gets those wailing, operatic AA singers in. Like fingernails down the blackboard to me.
If Noel wants to use female backup singers on tour he can get himself a jumpsuit and get a residency playing in Vegas.

Bumping this post up from 5 years ago. This was before Who Built the Moon and before Jess, Ysee, and Charlotte. In a rare instance I my vision of what should happen next actually did . I definitely wasn't disappointed. With the new Imelda May track, is another example of Noel working well with female vocalists. I think it would be great if he doubled down on this concept and had an album full of tracks like The Right Stuff, Just One Kiss, Be Careful What You Wish For etc. It would be so far from the oasis sound and think it would work well. Would be cool if he did it with a few different genres. I made an earlier thread about it but I'm a big fan of the tracks that have pronounced female backing vocals. Do you think he would be inclined to want to incorporate female vocals on Noel's next album? I think that's the one of the main things why I don't really like Noel's latest career. It came first in The Right Stuff - that song sounds cringe to me 'cause of most details but female vox... is the most arguable. I think I just don't like Ysee type of vox, I don't know how to explain it... it's too Afro-American (I'm not racist at all!!!) for Noel Gallagher as he's like absolute part of British culture (again - not racism, it's just about being adoptable to his style). I absolutely don't like Ysee onstage - she's like trying to be Ysee's High Flying Birds, you know? She's moving and dancing too much. It's like seeing Gorillaz for me. I'd like to see Ysee as backing vox from girls in Liam's band, not much. I didn't like Jessica's backing vox during SCYHO - that's a sin to me hearing someone else during that song except Noel and Liam. I think it's all about 'classic Noel' again... I'm not a music fan who don't like female vox at all as I'm huge fan of Annie Lennox and Bjork. I appreciate that kind of stuff Noel is trying to change as Chasing Yesterday tour was really boring - even when Gem and Chris were joined to the band. I like some of latest songs with female vox - Keep On Reaching is a very interesting track for example. But Noel Gallagher is a pure legend who shouldn't share his honour (vocally and being on stage) while being a solo musician. Didn't Noel leave Oasis with a thought to be absolute godlike genius? He's one and Noely.

I'm all up for it. A song like "Holy Mountain" sang by a powerful female vocalist could have been better. I even think he could make a whole album sang by various female vocalists but I don't think he ever will ahah.
